Was it refunded automatically? Or did you have to make an application thru IBKR to claim it back?

You bought BIL ETF or you bought the underlying T-bills yourself?

I know US T-bills/bonds interests (the underlying of BIL ETF) are not taxable, but at ETF level things might be different.

https://seedly.sg/posts/is-there-tax-wht-on...sted-bonds-etf/

Stashaway claimed they can claim back US government bonds interests though they only do it once a year: https://www.stashaway.my/help-center/115010...dends-get-taxed

In case you are holding BIL ETF, Gwynbleidd , how often does IBKR refund BIL ETF's WHT? Is it monthly? quarterly or annually?

Thanks for sharing. Learnt something new today. smile.gif

I will check the next time I receive dividends. The most recent dividend was end of last year and I got refunded already.

I also followed DJFoo and Gwynbleidd's advice and started buy-and-hold starting from this month. I didn't sell BIL on 3rd of July (this Monday).

Will report back if BIL ETF's dividends are refunded.
I received dividends on (Payable) 7th July 2023 for my US Treasuries (Ex-Dividend - 3rd July 2023). I'll let you know when I get refunded if I managed to find out.

Gwynbleidd do you observe the -0.01 USD entries after each month's distribution in your statement? I believe you are holding BIL via IBKR as well, yes?

Is that some sort of admin fee paid to IBKR/IRS for their "service"?
*
I was wondering why do you have that. No, I'm not holding BIL, I have ZROZ instead. For short duration holding, I use BOXX, which does not have any distribution so far.

Wow bro are you sure you are fine with earning risk-free rates via the box spread strategy?

Tbh, I'm not well versed with it 😂
Any concerns with this strategy?

I think if you click to next page it is still asking you to select the currencies that IBKR supports,
instead of allowing you to deposit MYR right into IBKR balance  sad.gif
*
Hmm, that's sad. I saw a post on X where Malaysian Futures were added to IBKR and the cost was in MYR. So I figured MYR would be supported.

Thanks for clear clarification. It very clear.

I wonder is it easy for us to open account, transfer fund etc.

Some of my client who use IBKR also inquiry about Tradestation, i am checkout on it.
*
Yes, it is easy to open an account and transfer funds.

There isn't any need for Tradestation anymore.
