Bad news for Nestle lol
QUOTE Nestle SA downgraded its sales outlook for the year saying the impact of pricing had eased off faster than expected. Nestle now expects sales to grow at least 3%, lower than the roughly 4% it had previously targeted. The world’s biggest food company has struggled to win back market share after inflation pushed shoppers to cheaper brands. Revenue rose 2.1% in the first half, compared with 2.5% expected by analysts, the Swiss company said Thursday. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/202...-rises-ease-off |

IBKR started charging GST on IBKR LLC users who are SG tax residents lol
https://www.reddit.com/r/singaporefi/commen...d_charging_gst/ Luckily I am still registering my identity with my Malaysian passport and never tell them my SG FIN number. It's good to be BOTH MY and SG tax residents eh ------------------------------------- Medufsaid can you help confirm if recurring investment on UCITS are still as low as 0.18 USD, or they have raised it to the standard 1-2 USD per trade charges? QUOTE(Medufsaid @ Jul 28 2024, 02:10 PM) Yup. So there is no point doing recurring investment now right, given the same commissions charged as a typical ETF purchase on LSE? |

QUOTE(john123x @ Aug 6 2024, 11:22 AM) i got a feelings, market are manipulated. few days ago, all good news, and then suddenly all bad news comes out.... lol they have always been manipulated. After 5 years of investing, you realize one thing: Companies delay bad news to be released as late as possible, and good news will always come out first. So, these days I take company announcements with a pinch of salt. Just buy an index fund in an efficient market like the US and call it a day... Use the extra time that would otherwise have been spent on researching individual stocks to date with girls... Warren Buffet can storm into boardrooms and compete for directorship positions, we lay investors can't do anything except sell when the ship has sailed... It's never a fair game. You realize that after some time. This post has been edited by TOS: Aug 6 2024, 11:29 AM TaiGoh, harmonics3, and 3 others liked this post

IBKR Overnight trading service back to normal. Just try out swing-trading NVDA and make 1.21 USD after fees and commissions lol
The wide bid-ask spread on the Blue Ocean ATS allows for profit opportunities if a script can be written to automate the intraday swing trade process repeatedly. ![]() This post has been edited by TOS: Aug 7 2024, 10:45 AM |

Heyo, I am about to open a directly-registered share account with Air Liquide.
I emailed Air Liquide shareholder service department this morning, and submitted the proof of details for my Wise EUR account and they accepted that! I am not yet a shareholder but they begin their email with "Dear shareholder" Lovely French... ![]() |

Damn, I just realize France has a 0.3% Financial Transaction Tax on purchases of securities... (on top of the 0.1% brokerage fee...)
Hmm anyone purchase French stock before? Can share if IBKR charges the 0.3% FTT on your purchase of French stocks? Pretty sure there must be some LVMH and Hermes shareholders here... |

QUOTE(langstrasse @ Aug 9 2024, 09:59 PM) Nice! Mind sharing why you’re doing this? Better to be directly registered instead of via IBKR? In this case you still purchase via IBKR first then do some sort of conversion? lol just trying to experience French hospitality There is an alternative actually: buy via IBKR, then convert from bearer shares to intermediate registered shares via IBKR. But I am not sure how much IBKR will charge for this sort of conversion-based corporate action. Probably some hefty penalty... That said, I like the treatment of Air Liquide towards retail investors. The IR team goes deep enough to show their care about retail shareholders. This can be seen in their IR page very clearly: https://www.airliquide.com/investors/indivi...ide-shareholder There are even shareholder factsheets covering topics from buying/selling via Air Liquide directly to dividend withholding taxation etc.: https://www.airliquide.com/investors/indivi...ntial-documents And based on my engagement with their shareholder support team at CACEIS so far, I am pleased with their swift and professional response. French standard eh... can't resist You don't have to pay anything to open a shareholder account, nor is there a need to pay any maintenance charges. Good to explore lah. Best case, buy shares and swallow the 0.4% brokerage fee, hold for years, enjoying free bonus and increasing dividends... Worst case, just leave the account as it is. As for funding issue, I can send EUR from IBKR to Wise EUR account details via SEPA, then SEPA again from Wise to Air Liquide's CACEIS corporate bank account. Might take days though the whole process should be entirely free of charge. (Ahem... check out slide 15 of 18 https://www.airliquide.com/sites/airliquide...sheets-2024.pdf ) ![]() Good for you if you have kids This post has been edited by TOS: Aug 9 2024, 10:43 PM langstrasse liked this post
