 Honda City idsi 2004 steering feels tight, Steering feels not smooth

Dear Sifu,

My Honda City idsi 2004 model steering feels quite tight and sometimes "lock" in highway over a curve. I will not say it is entirely "lock", but more like you need some force to turn the steering back. Change suspension, disc brake and not sure what else I can do. Send to few mechanics and they did not know the issues. Tyre also change. The feeling is not as smooth as my other cars. Anyone got ideas on what is going on?

will give it a shot on the checking.

this model use electric steering. I bring it up to mechanic on my suspicions on this but he told me if really this issue, then you will feel it will be totally very hard to turn

No, the issue being more than a year already. Did not do anything when the problem started. Recently change suspension, tyres and brake plate, but issue still persist

I always travel long distance, at times my hand feel some pain due to "struggle" with the steering.

Modern cars nowadays, this would normally be the 1st thing you do.

If the EPS has an issue there may be a error code, but it wasn't serious enough to trigger the EPS light.

no. Been to 3 mechanics for this issue, but none of them connect any device, more like "drive and feel". The car from 2004 have the board for connection? Previously my 2010 Mvi got ABS lights up, then my mechanic connect to scan tool. But for Honda city, he did not do so. Wonder he miss out or there is no place to connect

I used to have a 2005 City and currently own a 2005 Civic, and they both have OBD II ports.
2004 model year should have it... just look under the steering column. It should look like an extremely oversize VGA port.

thanks. I will send to VMAG next week and let them diagnose first. Instead of trying different mechanics which are a bit old school.

today send to VMAG as one of the bro recommend. Suspect the culprit is the steering rack, which the recon will cost RM 800++ and need a day to repair. The boss said many Honda face this issue.

Not sure, but Google on the answers for problems on Honda - got many articles points towards the steering rack problems. The thing is whether it is worth the price to change. After all, I got target to get another used car (about 3-4 years old) car by next year. Currently looking at Aruz and BR-V.
