Aren't brakes supposed to brake all 4 together to prevent fishtailing?

Well, let's just say that if I'm that well informed, I won't be here asking for help bro.

i think it is precisely because others find that you are ill informed and so they are trying to explain to you the futility of your plan. So instead of saying you would not discuss the issue, use that as a learning opportunity.

The whole discussion of weight transfer resulting in less traction at the rear is reason enough not to mess with the brakes.

anyways, a few additional thing to note. if you are cooking your brakes coming down Genting then perhaps it is better to reexamine how you are actually driving.

Also understand the physics behind friction braking: your wheel must rotate for it to work. With the load off your rear you likely end up locking your wheel too easily (which causes ABS to kick in) so your wheels are not rotating as much as they should be which can actually decrease braking performance. on the subject of cooling, since most of the braking is done by the front brakes, they naturally heat up more than the rear and have you considered that perhaps the cooler rear might actually lose heat at rate comparable to the front therefore making rear disc pointless?

make no mistake, i love all around disc brakes but you should really consider your actual application before diving in

Like others have mentioned, upgrade your tires and front brake(pads).

I’ve worked at genting many years ago, never encountered any overheated or fading brakes. I’ve only used engine braking and minimal stepping on brakes. From manual to auto that is.

so put the effort on front more effective than changing on back? That's the conclusion?

another question is why some cars like vios are front and back disc brake?

Coming down Genting, learn to use engine braking instead of over relying on the brakes to slow the car.
you did notice the signs saying use low gear I presume... The 2, D3, at the gear lever are there for a reason.

Unless of course you are doing touge racing... that's the only reason i found where you might need to upgrade the brakes of the car.

Because DRUM brakes are cheaper... so the lower end models have drums... as you move up the range, generally all uses disc brakes,
plus disc brakes looks better.... and better looking car sells better...

I was wondering did anyone perform the conversion from rear drum brake to disc brake for Honda City?

Any good recommendation on what brands to get for the mod?

I never like the rear drums on my honda city and for better safety, I'm planning to change it.

Hopefully sifus here can guide me and give me some advise

HOnda city gm6 ?

Just change your standard front disc and brake pad to a better one...

i'm using project U made in japan front disc just plug and play..same size with standard... but slotted..
mix with winmax brakepad..

after replace this both, the grip is better than when i get my new car...

but my car was lowered with sport spring + stiff ring + some bar......

This +1.

Upgrading front pads and rotor will have larger effect than converting rear drums to disc.

Yes that's the conclusion.

My Iswara rear drums, I've brake until front glowing 500+c, rear also no overheat/fade.

Only time my rear drums faded is Sepang.

Also try to understand that when weight is shifted to the front, the rear is less effective.

An example:

An exaggerated example:

When the rear tire leaves the ground, it's braking is zero, and if no abs/electronics, it's almost a guaranteed immediate lock
