Consider the fact that PS2 is already 6-7 years old and the 360 is only 1-2 years old. How can you compare both? There is a gap of 1 Generation. The resolution that the PS2 outputs is just nice for a normal CRT TV which is 640x480. I don't find any sense in your post at all.
Ontopic : Go for a PS2 if you never played the previous library of games that are available for the console. Especially RPG games. Go for a PSP if you wan portability. In terms of games the PSP loses to the PS2 of course. But there is one game that I'm looking forward to on the PSP which is Jeanne D'Arc. Superb game.
