 Maxis shaping traffic on Spotify usage, Maxis even confirms they're doing it

I'm not sure if you guys have noticed, but Maxis seems to do traffic shaping when streaming with Spotify on 4G. I use Spotify pretty often when I'm driving and I often get stuttering.

So I turned on my data traffic monitor and I noticed that the data speeds average 60KB/s at most... and this is obviously not sufficient when streaming on very high quality. I'm on MOP 98 with unlimited data so data usage isn't an issue for me - but if Maxis is doing traffic shaping then this obviously this is a concern.

Will open a complaint tonight, but I'd like to see if anyone else is facing this issue.

I'm certain it's not due to station switching... I tested it while stationary and the speeds are still the same.

Would have loved to but I don't have a VPN unfortunately. If you have one please go ahead and do so, I'd have a better case to put against them.

So I got a call from Maxis claiming that he was from the Network team - and apparently it's been reported before but they aren't able to do anything about it.

So guys if you are facing these issues - take 5 minutes to make a report because it's basically BS that Maxis is restricting your usage yet be able to claim 'unlimited data'.
