Le Cours de Commandment (COURCO) or submarine command course is a specific course designed to prepare future candidates for French submarine commanding officer (CO). This course is held at French Nuclear Attack Submarine Squadron (ESNA) under close monitoring by the readiness department of the force.

For me...its a very tough & demanding course. Especially during the sea phase where u have to be on board a French nuclear sub and act as the captain. U will be given several tasks back to back and u have to plan & instruct ur crews what to do. Of course the tasks are very tough.... and if u are a foreign naval officer, it will be tougher due to language barrier & difference in practice.

Thanks God.... 2 weeks of course, both in simulator & onboard...I managed to complete it.... not with flying colours, but enough to get credit by the french sub forces, to certify me that I am ready to command a submarine.

I learned many things...especially on tactical aspects which are cant be found anywhere. The readiness department of french sub force is really expert in their fields...with the help of the crews, I managed to plan & conduct all the given tasks successfully.

congratz commander LTZ

question, as experienced submariner and now, submarine captain, what's your personal take/view on Stirling-engine submarines like the Swedes Gotland-class vs typical diesel-electric engine like Scorpene?

Compared to normal diesel electric engine & the one with AIP, of course AIP is greater in term of endurance & discretion. But if diesel electric vs diesel electric... it depends on the specs...ours are from germany & this battery is great in term of fast charging rate & also endurance than, let say non-western made sub

Its difference bro... but best woo playing with SSN, no limitation in high speed, just give order & it will proceed at high speed without need to worry about battery capacity

That one is propaganda stereotypes from murican news.
It actually never happen,u can read more y it unlikely to happen. 🤪

The submarine has no hatches there. The Arihant is based on Russian double hull design with a sealed nuclear reactor section

Ah this is surprisingly considering French have a thing of not speaking English.

Heck even if their domestic atc is spoken in French when rest of world is speaking English.

Commanding is like the easiest..

The hard ones are those performing tasks. Require competency/skillset

Like x man, Charles just giving instructions mutant performs
