Update: 1 year has passed. This speaker continuously ON 24/7 at 80% volume for 1 year already!! And it still sounds good! Playing loop using my pendrive in my laundry shop btw.

I have been looking for a cheap portable speaker. As you all know, i'm all about cheap and good lol.

Introducing the Zealot s31. Granted its china brand, but reading whatever little reviews on zealot branded speakers, i am kinda convinced its good so i took the plunge.

Why i choose the s31 model.
1. Its cheap! Rm55 only.
2. Im convinced its sufficently loud and with good sound quality.

My review.
1. Sound quality is indeed good below 80% volume. Sound is clear and not muddled like pasar malam speakers (which is more expensive btw). Bass is there too. Sound quality almosy comparable with branded speaker like ultimate ears which are all above rm200. However the s31 bass is less compared to the ultimate ears wonderboom. Dont get me wrong, the bass from s31 is good. If i have to score the bass, s31 will get 7/10, wonderboom 8.5/10.
2. Comes with alloy diaphragm for better low frequencies sound.
3. Battery not bad. Rated 10 hours at 70% volume. But i only got 9 hours. Not bad la.
4. Play music with pendrive or tf card.
5. Matted body, feels solid. Base comes with long rubber pad so it wont slide around if i use it in my car.
6. Use in room confirm loud enough. It filled up my entire living room too.

Things i dont like:
1. Buttons easily pressed when inside my bag. These buttons are on top and protuding out, hence easy for accidental press.
2. Big zealot brand on the grill. Not a big dislike. It looks funky though.

Yup use internal rechargeable battery 2000mah if not mistaken. Just take usb charger to charge it. Same usb head as android hp.

sarcasm aside, btw some cheap speaker perform surprisingly well, doesn't feels cheap at all if didn't tell the price

True true. Like this s31, because its body is matted, it feels nice to hold. Furthermore it has some weight and a solid build.. Once people hear it, they wont guess its only rm55 if they do not know the brand

Looking to get one of this value for money speaker. Good recommendation.

Yup yup. Another speaker that caught my attention is mifa. Supposingly a malaysia brand. Their a10 and a20 model is very much recommended, especially the a20 model. However it costs rm119 and rm159 respectively. But the mifa speakers can pair 2 speakers of the same model together via bluetooth, creating a more stereo hifi environment. Also the a20 is 30w, so should be much much louder. I wanna review it too.
