Came back from Huawei shop at one utama, touch and play with the phones. Mmm...., asked the shop seller, confirmed no Google services installed in the phone. Just wondering will this phone going to have problem in the future or not but for sure, the second hand value will be cold in the water, as the future second hand buyer will be limited to those who is don't care much about installing or using Google services. To me, I will certainly stay away from such phone even how good it is on the paper or in the real life. As we still isn't using it in China and we are heavily depend on Google services.

whatsapp doesn't need GMS, right?

Yes, whatsapp dones't need, but then if you are also depend on some other third party which build on top of the google services, then without it installed, the app won't able to run. Of cause, I don't mean every single app will have issue, but the risk is there. Who know what other app(s) will have issue, and anyone is using the phone will need to go thru the trouble just to find a workaround matter. Don't even talk about if anyone doesn't really know how to find workaround way for those second hand buyer.

hi just asking, if this app gallery can install those microsoft product? Like M.Outlook, M.Authenticator, M.Intune Company portal? Because company policy tied with security need to use Microsoft product thing for email.

Test to search for "Microsoft" word under the App Gallery, don't seem able to find anything. So, there is only way, which is you need to download the app which downloaded from somewhere else and install it.

Even if you sideload all google Apps from Playstore, some Google APIs are still missing. (example: Google Autofill feature). There are so many APIs involved to make a seamless "Google" experience.

Yes, you are right, and this is what worries me as we just normal people, won't know which are needed and which are just optional to have. So far on the net, people only teach to install those famous app like, map, youtube, chrome and etc.

i see, mean i need t download  those apps APK and install it ownself. But worry the apps update, then need to repeat the step? download APK and install?
*
Should be this way la since you are not download it from the phone official app. Getting the app to update, will be the same process, download from some website, install it via the file manager.

Huawei P30, P30 pro and Nova 5T  temporarily banned in Taiwan because it is showing Taiwan, China the time zone... tongue.gif

But, did they label Hong Kong, China too? or Macau, China too?  hmm.gif

Checked my Mate 20x, it is now display like that. Yes, it is same label for the HK and Macau. I think this is a serious matter for Taiwan people as they never agree to China saying they are part of China.

Of course. Technically, they're still at civil war.

Previous version didn't have problem listing Taiwan as standalone. Same thing as listing Hong Kong and Macau.
Hong Kong now is very anti-China now. Everything China-branded will be boycotted or destroyed.

Sometimes, politics get in the way. I think their govt is pressuring them to do this ..
updating their regions in all their software/hardware to exclude Hong Kong,Macau and Taiwan as individual but part of
the bigger China. This pisses them off.

Some maps are also being made of the South China sea to include the NINE-DOTted line all the way to include territory
owned by Malaysia. Most ridiculous thing indeed, yet China is complaining western countries are bullying them but
they're trying to do stealth demarcation using their massive marketshare with virtual borders on their products.

Very sneaky.  nod.gif

Wow, this is become more and bigger issue since the HK issue. I just wondering what if china start a actual war with taiwan, what will happen. Some time, people is greedy, keep on wanting more power and more things. We will need to wait and see how's thing turn out in HK, but it will be not so soon until some clever people come out a better solution.

I don't own the phone, but sumting to suggest. Sakurazz, fellow lowyat seller sells Tmax UV tempered glass protectors. Can try.

Search for Sakurazz at shopee.

He is selling, contact him via phone is much faster rather going thru shopping platform as he provides on the spot installation if you happen to stay around kepong area.
