QUOTE(voltan @ Sep 20 2019, 05:36 PM) now still have those apps, once google totally ban used in Huawei then those apps will remove from the gallery. and sooner or later google will restrict those not authorized google service running on Huawei device too. just wait.. so will you fork out 4k to gamble.. your choice Why are you so negative in all your posts? Those who are willing to buy do it at their own risk Not everyone need to use Google services and it's app. China users are good examples It is still too early to conclude how limited will Google app work - wait a week for actual users feedback |

Good news
Partial quote: Luckily it is ridiculously easy to get Google Play Services, and therefore, Google apps working on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. I need to preface this by saying that you can ‘sideload’ many Google apps using sites like APKmirror but without the underlying libraries and necessary data, they will fail to load or encounter issues. Installing the Google Play Services frameworks turns the Huawei Mate 30 Pro into what you’d consider a ‘normal’ Android smartphone. You can use every Google app as normal and all-in-all, the process takes less than 10 minutes and doesn’t need any real technical know-how — meaning it can be done by just about anyone. While Huawei cannot tell you how to install Google apps on the Mate 30 Pro for legal reasons, it’s unclear if employees in carrier stores will be able to help potential buyers add the Google Service Assistant APK file to their devices and streamline the process even further. I have personally been running Google Play Services since the Mate 30 launch with zero issues, everything works as expected with no major hiccups beyond the fact the phone comes without the ‘normal’ setup process we’re all used to. It was initially believed that an unlocked bootloader would be needed to install custom ROMs with Google Play Services and apps included but the solution is far more simple than that. The Huawei AppGallery does have a substantial library but it won’t ever be able to compete with the Google Play Store in sheer size and scale. Potential buyers of this phone should realize you will never get a 100% Google experience
So compromises are needed Stay away if you are not willing to compromise Seriously I doubt HW will remain ban for long. They are just too big for US Google and other suppliers to ignore. Pressure will be on Trump to give up trying?? |

QUOTE(pwf @ Oct 5 2019, 04:54 PM) I dont know what is the hoo haa. The person buying not complaining but those not buying making so much noise. If you are so worry, just don't buy. What the big deal. Nobody force you and this thread is for mate 30 user. Let us who willing to buy enjoy our phone and its none of your business +1Problem is many here think they are smarter users and probably even smarter than HW ? Not all users need Google stuffs - eg my wife can easily do away with it Just be happy if you think this phone meet your personal needs. Ignore all those doom slayers. Wonder what benefit they have condemning it? Whether HW will eventually fail is none of my concern. There are other choices available |

QUOTE(un_id @ Oct 29 2019, 10:26 AM) ya i'm aware of that, but then didn't follow on rumours about Trump'd "u-turn" about the issues The Android mobile operating system is free for consumers and for manufacturers to install, but manufacturers need a licence to install Gmail, Google Maps and the Google Play store - collectively called Google Mobile Services (GMS). Manufacturers can be refused a licence if they do not meet Google's requirements.then i see Mate 30 still come with android, i thought the ban was lifted.. so it seems Huawei just slapped in their last chance with android before the ban is 100% enforced isn't it haha last time i was active in this section but since the past 2 years not anymore.. maybe i'm old af (or simply bored with smartphones) |

QUOTE(se800i @ Dec 31 2019, 08:29 AM) Ok noted with thanks.... I think i have missed out some part of this thread..... Let me go through again. The bojio channel you refer to is highly unreliable and inaccurate. I guess he refused to acknowledge is his problem but chose to blame HW instead. I had yet to hear of messages issues from other users |
