Just visited a Huawei Service Centre and compared my phone to three other phones. As suspected, it's the same, the line at the edge is indeed light shifting due to the curves. Use dark mode, slap a black wallpaper and problem solved.

As for the warranty, the customer service explained that is the system warranty of when the phone is registered by the dealership. She showed me her computer screen - my phone was manufactured in Jan 2020, shipped in Feb 2020, and warranty in system showed not registered. She said it'll take about a week for it to be updated, after which it will reflect from the date the phone was first turned on. It's how their backend system works, and she apologized for the confusion. I was impressed by her professionalism (and she looks kinda pretty too), so all is forgiven, hahahaha

So I think in your case bro, the customer service agent could be a newbie or lacked the necessary training.

I went to a a popular chain store to check out the warranty status of new units in sealed box and the warranty status is similar with expected warranty expiration date when they're still in the shelves, unsold. Too early to tell. Just set it up last night, and with the workarounds like Petal Search and Aptoide, only about 10 of my frequently used apps still can’t be installed/won’t work or have no substitutes (out of 55 or 60). Some aren’t so crucial (like McDonalds, Expedia) and some are important (like Citibank, HSBC) but I have a second phone for those, so we’ll see if I can live with (or rather without) them for the next two weeks.

A couple of things that have stood out to me: -

1. Both Face Unlock and the FP reader is BLAZING fast! No other brand comes close - the Face Unlock is even faster than iPhone’s Face ID coz it has the option to unlock without sliding up. The in display FP reader puts the likes of Samsung and Xiaomi to shame. I’ll reserve my assessment on the OnePlus since I have yet to test their new one on the OP8, but it’s definitely faster and better than my last OnePlus, the OP7 Pro.

2. The battery life has been impressive. I unplugged at 98% capacity last night yesterday at about 8pm, set up the apps and what not, then updated the phone twice (now running on August 2020 security updates) and the battery is now at 68%, after a little over 4 hours SOT. Of course, this was all done mostly on WiFi. The real test starts today
