Normal driving means traffic jam, gunning throttle at traffic light and above 80km/h speeds not more than 5 minutes stretch. Thats about right.

1. big heavy SUV u expect Axia FC?
2. New car, let the engine run in first.

No, nobody expecting axia FC. But if u can't even beat 2.5 mazda cx5 then your car memang high FC.

Nonsense. No such thing as let engine run in first. It has already been run in at factory.

Nxt time top up abit get cx5 if u want good FC

First thing first, i dont own x70. I just lurk in the group.

Your consumption i would say it's normal. Hafriz shah mentioned before that x70 in real life has maximum 20% FC difference compared to CR-V.

I believe the FC depends on people driving behavior & location. If always stuck in city jam, the 300km consider good. If always on highway normal speed 110km/h, should expect around 500~600km..

That is actually pretty good and sound about right.

For comparison
X70 is SUV 180Horsepower 11km/1littre

My inspira 2.0 sedan 150Horsepower 12.5km/1litre in Highway, 10km/litre in city

Your car is heavier and have higher horsepower, thus 11km/litre is fair

Daily city drive with traffic jam shall return about average 9.5L to 10L per 100km. Its equivalent to my other 2.0NA car. (for comparison sick)

Frankly speaking X70 could give a better FC if on the highway without much stop and go traffic.

Trade 1-on-1 your X70 with Axia E spec.

In 50 years you'll recoup the loss with with your new Axia's fuel savings

Yes. Friend got one and the FC is really horrible. But its not surprise for its weight.

Basically its like a PHEV XC90 without battery juice, full tank can only go for around 250-280km for a 68L tank.

It's normal, abit on the high side. City drive should be around 10L/100KM. If heavy traffic crawl lots of stop and go then 11L/100KM. SUVs are heavy and not as aerodynamic as sedans so naturally they have higher FC. Does the x70 has auto stop/start? That may save some fuel but not by much.

Deswai jgn xpasal2 go and buy a SUV just because it is big and tall.

For long journeys yes it is comfortable, but for town driving there are simply better options that are not just more economical but also easier to drive.

No auto start/stop.

But there's a Eco mode, but only worth if traveling on highway. Tbe Eco mode is not suitable for city heavy use. FC is more than a Normal mode.

X70 is quite bad on FC , this is the fact ... even u do how many services .. the improvement is not much ... the upcoming X70 CKD version with 1.5tebu + DCT gearbox maybe can improve the FC significantly

Those that did not do their due diligence rants about X70 FC, instead of enjoying the other features and comfort.

It's a SUV, not a sedan
It's 1.7 ton SUV, not 1.3 ton B segment sedan
It's a 1.8 turbo, not 1.5 NA (heck, the VW EA888 that they copied isn't well known to be fuel efficient in the first place).
The 6 speed gearbox is only 80+% efficient (the weakest link throughout the drive train)
Driving in city stop-go traffic didn't help, the energy required to achieve momentum for a 1.7 ton SUV isn't fuel friendly.

Btw, the new Boyue Pro in China has the new 7DSG mated to the same 1.8L turbo (partly to meet China Euro6 standard) & fuel savings is only 1 litre per 100km (even though this 7DSG is claimed to have 97% efficiency).

First 1000km it drinks fuel. After 1000km service, slighty better.

In fuelly.com, it's like 8-10km/l but only with a population of 5 cars

http://www.fuelly.com/car/proton/x70

Few things to take into consideration:
1. New car consumes more fuel, need to go for a few services before it is stabilized
2. Driving short distances where you need to turn on and off the car increases fuel consumption
3. Driving in heavy traffic or full city increases fuel consumption
4. Under-pressured tyres increases drag and fuel consumption
5. Having significantly more load (weight) in the car increases fuel consumption

That being said, how much is your monthly petrol expense?

Well said...just adding...check on your odo display panel, whats your average driving speed J_Shen

That should give an indicator the amount you are driving similar to city speed

1.5 turbocharged CKD if they offer in December may save fuel. But pickup may sluggish compare 1.8...

Sounds like a guzzler, this X70!
3 to 3.3 km per litre is very high consumption.

My Prado King with 4.0 litre engine consumes average 5 km per litre for mixed driving.
