Will need recommendation from you all, especially domain. I have no mykad therefore can't get the .My domain promo.

I saw some domain are cheap at first year but it's renewal is very expensive.

You can apply for a decent domain at www.namecheap.com - they're the most affordable and reliable starting at about RM 37.

As for web hosting, that can be subjective depending on your skill set and what you require. There are both managed and unmanaged web hosting services.

If you have an idea on how to utilize servers to host your website by yourself, www.digitalocean.com is the way to go. They're very lightweight and flexible i.e. you can choose your custom bandwidth limit, SSD capacity, RAM and other configurations. This is the most affordable way since you'd only have to pay about 20 RM per month.

For managed web hosting services on the other hand, although cheaper (about 12 RM per month), everything is managed for you. You'd only need to maintain your website using their cPanel but the only downside is that you may experience frequent downtime plus your website is shared with other websites on the same host. Most managed web hosting services work like this. A good example is hostgator.com. They're pretty reliable.

If you want a simple and fuss-free personal website. I would recommend Weebly. It is great for beginners and it has drag and drop feature for you to easily customise your design. For the premium plan, you even get a free domain with it.

But Weebly is not as flexible as Wordpress though. Namecheap.com are quite affordable. If you want to use hosting, consider using Siteground because it is one of the most stable hosting provider out there and I'm personally using it as well.
