No. It's Streamyx 8mbps I assume. Either you get your own line or upgrade to UniFi if available.

Enable qos in your router and set your gaming device to higher priority so that you can game better. Other video watching device just set them on low priority.

Find a router with Bandwidth setting. Set the upload speed for all devices except your gaming pc/device to 64Kbps.

QUOTE(siang930615 @ Sep 16 2019, 05:25 PM) Can... Last time when I was using 8Mbps the QoS did make ping low and consistent instead of getting occasional 100+ms when downloading and streaming. Depends on how good is the router's QoS and whether it is set up properly or not also. |

with the new pricing of RM69 per month (almost 50% discount), you may wish to subscribe to one more line which you can dedicate it as gaming line.

Like the above guy mentioned. Asymmetrical connection(ADSL) vs Symmetrical connection(Fibre).
Despite many gamers claimed that upload speed is not a concern for gamings but over the years, this is no longer relevant. With in game voip implementation, upload speeds now plays a vital part in gaming. [Copper technology broadband] ADSL = 1-10mbps download and still 512k upload. VDSL =10mbps download but with 5mbps upload. limited coverage areas are known to support vdsl. [Fibre broadband technology] It's lowest speed is 30mbps download and 10mbps upload. Yes.. lowest. Nothing lower than that. Highest is over 600mbps. I've heard of 1gbps before but never seen one. I mean in malaysia. For TM package, it wasn't exactly asymmetrical but better than nothing. |

Everything was 5mb d & 5mb u to 30mbps d and 30mbps u. Until when the government starts to heavily enforced high speed broadband .thats why tm packages are also not symmetric so that can mantain the contention ratio. they also restrict upload speed further than half of gpon download so as to match vdsl infra, and prevent users from running seedboxes |

QUOTE(bl@ze @ Sep 22 2019, 12:25 AM) You can sound as condescending as you want but do you think people will use 8mbps if they have a choice? I doubt its a problem that cannot be solved. Because even a mobile plan is faster than that. lel . But okay. Its because he doesn't have a choice. If you don't have a choice, then just get 2 x 8 mbps lines . Problem solved. The ultimate point is that 8 mbps is nothing in the grand scheme of things and you still can't stream and game on 8 mbps, less everyone just suffers and nothing gets done. |

And pay 300+ (I'm aware it's reduced now but before this it's the reality of things) ringgit for subpar bandwidth? Even your suggestion for mobile plan is dumb because of the latency. You reek of entitled urban dweller syndrome. I had to maintain a 4mbps connection for gaming and a mobile line for streaming and even then I still needed to install an outdoor Lte Modem because LTE coverage indoors is bad.
