Thanks for the reminder, got any recommendations for budget graphic card for this 4K display? I just need the 4K display for programming work, and games will be scaled down to play in 1080p.
If you're going for the ViewSonic VX3211-4K-mhd I mentioned earlier, perhaps you can look into used RX 580 if you are on a budget
This way you can also utilize the FreeSync support on the monitor too

But if you ask me, I'd always suggest everyone to go for the latest technology, which is the RX 5700 XT

My desktop has 2 6-pin power connectors, I read that rx580 needs 8 pin, just buy an adapter to combine 2 6-pin to 8 pin?

Rx580 about rm560 used, rx5700 xt about rm2k... I think rx580 is enough for browsing and programming work.

There's a lot of 6 pin to 8 pin converters available in Lazada / Shopee

RX 5700 XT is a huge jump from RX 580
And with the RX 5700 XT, you don't have to downscale your resolution because the RX 5700 XT is strong enough to handle games in 4K while the RX 580 isn't

But if you insist on buying the RX 580, a new unit with 2 years warranty is available for RM615 in Shopee
Manufacturer warranty provides a peace of mind in case something bad happens to the GPU. This will also prevent you from accidentally buying a used GPU that was previously used for mining

There are 2 types of RX 5700. The XT & the non-XT. The non-XT has lesser Texture Mapping Units than the XT
Comparison between RX 5700 vs RX 5700 XT: https://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?g...RX%205700%208GB

Also, only go with 2 brands for AMD GPUs, either Gigabyte or MSI because these 2 brands does not void warranty for opening their GPU in case you want to replace the thermal paste / cleaning the heatsink or using 3rd party waterblocks
As long as you don't cause physical damage to the GPU when opening it, you should be fine
PowerColor, Sapphire, ASUS & XFX all of them voids warranty when you open their GPU

PowerColor & ASUS used to allow their customers to open their GPU but not anymore which sucks

Gigabyte RX 5700 with Three Fans:

Gigabyte RX 5700 XT with Three Fans:

MSI RX 5700 with Dual Fans:

MSI RX 5700 XT with Dual Fans:

Personally, I'd always go for the unit with more fans. Better cooling
There's also cheaper models with the stock AMD heatsink but I really don't believe in a single fan setup biggrin.gif

MSI RX 5700 with stock AMD heatsink (single fan):

MSI RX 5700 XT with stock AMD heatsink (single fan):

Another thing to note, if you want to utilize 4K with FreeSync, make sure you use DisplayPort cable, not HDMI
