That's a known fact that the S500i and W580i's keypads are very prone to cracks.

So potential buyer's please be aware that this problem is prevalent.

anyone know why causes of this?

is it bcos element of housing is weak (manufacturer error)?

That's what I heard from the service centre guys as well.

I guess that's the main reason for the cracks.

I got wat u meant.

I think the paint tat SE used are raected with element of housing itself.

Tats just my thinking lar.

Anyone can clarify this more detail?

I think its a serious problem fro S500i as new comer in the market.

It has been clarify by Mobile Review regarding the issue of crack keypad which was cause by the chemical reaction towards the keypad.
If you need more detail, Google it. Lots of user review about this.

Just google mate. Don't be so lazy.
Just type in "S500i crack keypad" or the other way round.
That's it. As simple as that.

That's the reason that SE don't even know until people start complaining and they checked back only realized. Else, they wouldn't even release it at the very first

i think maybe the light spread out then the light atom hit the paint on the keypad than the chemical reaction occur, the stiffness of the keypad is affected when the force is exert on it theplastic deformation occur------>keypad crack phenomena tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif sweat.gif

according to my limited knowledge on solid mechanics, the material that choose to use for the keypad is not stiff at all, the material can't resist the force to bend elastically.
