And now the iPad Air 3 seems a little redundant... (and I happen to have one, sigh)...

Why bro ?? I am actually considering iPad Air 2019, but surprised to see that Apple refreshed their iPad 9.7" silently too sweat.gif

This iPad though is cheaper, but comes with A10 (same as my current iP7+), compared to Air (2019) at A12. I wonder if the extra money is worth investing in hmm.gif

Oh, because of my usage of the iPad, bro. My usage is pretty much limited to media consumption, e-reader, some light emails and web browsing. I had the 2018 iPad and it was good enough but then I was so fascinated by the 2018 Pro that I upgraded. After that, I had buyer’s remorse and felt it was a little overkill and when the Air 3, launched, I downgraded again laugh.gif Anyways, will stick to this Air 3 and see what the next Pro will look like smile.gif

Besides the processor, one of the Air 3’s selling point was the smart connector so you have the option of adding the Smart Keyboard, which previously couldn’t be done with the entry level iPad and the Pro one could be too expensive. But now you can do that with the entry level iPad so if you really don’t need all the processing power, the iPad 2019 might do?

Do you think Apple will upgrade their iPad pro this year sometime soon?? Say Oct 2019 ?? I m still thinking to buy now or wait till what they offer for the ipad pro hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif

for anyone who wants a basic ipad, i think the ipad 2019 still does the job despite it is using A10 chip. but the price justifies for the purchase. one can upgrade more often due to its lower price comparing to buy higher end iPads.

How about the battery life?? Is it anywhere close to what the iPad Air 2019 can offer?? hmm.gif I read that 2018 iPad 9.7" battery life is a lot worse than the 2019 iPad air and also 2018 iPad pro 11"

I think it’ll just be a minor refresh if it happens in October. March 2020 could be more likely. Actually one of my main gripe with the Pro is how thin and fragile it was - I keep having the phobia that I would accidentally bend or break it accidentally! I’m waiting to see if the next gen Pro would improve on that too.

Having had all three iPads - the 2018, Pro and Air 3, I’d say the best is the Air 3. The Pro has a 120hz refresh rate so it consumes a fair bit of battery.

Ive been reading in the internet where they claimed iPad Pro (12 or 11'') both bend easily with minimum force hmm.gif doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

Im also kinda worried of it, but the design is definitely way way better than the dated design of iPad Air 3 (2019). However, the built quality of Air 3 is superb as what i have read so far sweat.gif

you and me both dude.

i am very keen on purchasing ipad pro 11 2018 but maybe i just wait after october event.

chances are, the new ipad pro 2019 will have similar camera lens design like Iphone pro 11, alongside with using A13X chip and other similarities.

but then again, i really aim for 5G capability but that might come on 2022 or above. maybe after 5G has really stabilize in our country, maybe i will consider buying one.

hope Apple could come up with better design than the current "too fragile" & "bend gate" design in the upcoming apple october event.

yup, thats why im still thinking to get Pro or the 2019 Air. The price difference is also quite subtle. hmm.gif

If Apple is going to refresh their IPad Pro in Oct 2019, high chance that they will be introducing A13X, and fix the bendgate issue? hmm.gif
