the new 10.2-inch iPad looks not bad. screen looks good despite as usual non-laminated but bigger display with slight thinner bezel than before makes it look more worthy and nicer. As compare to iPad mini, the bezel is not extremely thick like before.
Really good iPad for everyone especially for elderly or kids who do not need professional function like iPad Air or pro.

Hi guys, first time user of iPad thingy, yup. get this iPad 7th generation for mom as well for her birthday. So, my question is if we bought the wifi + cellular, when the sim is inserted we can only surf the net, facetime, iMessage etc. right? Do we get to receive SMS? I know no calls is possible, but what about ordinary text SMS. Is it out of the picture too? Really good iPad for everyone especially for elderly or kids who do not need professional function like iPad Air or pro.

My mum's Ipad 2 needs a change. It's getting really really slow with iOS 9.3.5. Guess this 10.2 should suffice?

For normal usage should suffice, both my parents are happy with it now.
My sister was complaining that the Facebook app auto logs out my mum's account and she has been helping her to key in FB password every now and then. Not sure if it's the app, iOS or iPad issue. I don't think it's human error as my mum doesn't know how to logout.. I asked her to uninstall and reinstall the app, hope it will fix the issue.
Also another issue which I ebcounter, though I have activated fingerprint verification for apps download but it will still prompt to insert password. It's really annoying. What's the issue?
Seems like most of us buying this iPad 10.2 for elderly and kids. I'm satisfied with this model for it's screen size as mom using it most for YT and reading. Nothing fancy. Glad she loves it.
