QUOTE(Sotsotzaii @ Sep 8 2019, 02:59 PM) My budget is around 180-200, looking at seagate's slim plus hdd, would that be a good buy ? Yes, if you cant get that the WD slim is also decent. I've got both and theyre the same quality so going with either is ok. With your budget, you could get the 1TB. If you top-up RM70, the 2TB would be affordable.

QUOTE(Sotsotzaii @ Sep 8 2019, 05:36 PM) I see, yup I plan to get just 1TB anyway. I've read some stuff regarding external hdd spoils quite easily, with the main factor being it drops on the floor, etc. But if taken well care of, it'll last at least for years to come ? I usually leave mine at home connected to the PC, TV or in my drawer/table. I have one in my bag in case I need to do some file transfers while I traveling. For me, if it's not in use then it's stowed away. That means that there is a very low chance of this being dropped. If this describes your use case too, then I'd save myself the hassle and just get the HDD. I dont think you'd drop this as often as you'd drop your phone

QUOTE(Sotsotzaii @ Sep 8 2019, 08:41 PM) That's exactly what I'd be doing, I'm only taking it out to use if I have files I need to transfer to my computer or use it directly on the HDD itself, other than that I'll be storing it in my drawer. How long have you been using ur HDD ? I've got a Toshiba canvio that's been around for 7 years, WD for 3 years and that Seagate you linked to for 6 months.
