This is quite a weird request I reckon. I'm 171cm & 57kg, used to swim competitively and have huge back muscles (I can hit 40 diamond pushups in a row and do 10 pullups per set, I think that's probably rather mediocre in comparison with you guys, but it's more than anyone I know personally). However, my front pectorals are extremely tiny — they barely exist. Does anyone know how I can train my chest without enlarging my back muscles? I look like I'm hunch-backed now due to the sheer size of my back muscles in stark contrast with my pecs.

Pretty much sums up everything

We need to engage the back as a support to do chest workout. Might sounds weird to you but yes.

Sorry but it sounds weird to me that you actually said hunch back, as that's more towards the word "rounded shoulder" for chiropractor's terms.

I would suggest you pay a visit to a good chiropractor to eliminate the cause of hunch back, could be "thoracic kyphosis" or something else before you start any exercise on the chest, as making your chest bigger will increase the "hunch" instead. sad.gif

You can try to diagnose yourself by doing this --> How to Fix Your Posture

Then a fast resolution for hunch would be the shoulder strap, at least during study or work at desk, like those 24/7, 9-5pm desk job, your shoulder are retracted behind by the strap.

I hope these can give some help, still advice to get the specialist to diagnose before any counter-measure apply. smile.gif

10 pullups (assuming bodyweight) per set is nothing really.

Nothing wrong with having strong back. Back muscles acts as the platform for your chest. They compliment each other. If your back is weak your bench is not gonna be strong either
