I dont comment that much since last night.... really sad to hear this. Although he, and other of his comrades in the 11 RGK are considered as the best shooters.... but incident still happened.
Ppl keep complaining on why using the live bullets. I agree in some cases. GGK must continue using live bullets for their training. But, to avoid bad reviews from the public, the use of this live bullets for demo should be avoided. Really a tragic lost to the country. Some may not care.... but for those in the armed forces & special forces specially, we miss him.
Here is a clip of 11 RGK SLK.... in one of their demo. For those who are still new, 11 Regimen Gerak Khas (RGK) is the best regiment among 3 (21, 22 & 11). 11 RGK has a squadron called Skuadron Lawan Keganasan (SLK) which is best among the best in the army.... considered as Delta Force equivalent.
11 RGK is crazy unit.... I remembered years ago, they came to KK... for a demo. They didnt bring any vehicle...so they rented hilux.
So bad for the owner.... they took out all 4 doors, for easy ingress & egress... then when doing the training, they made sharp turn till turtled. The operators woke up & continued the training with another hilux.
And during the real demo day, when they charged the explosive suddenly it exploded uncontrollably.... causing several operators been thrown away with, damaging their ear drums. Immediately they were flown to QE Hospital. But still... once recovered they continued the job

used to lepak with old retired VAT 69 before...he told me he and team train his ass off and in mission we would rather strap himself with hand grenade and charge toward enemy than getting caught...then he laugh and saying GGK even crazy than me...those guy will do even crazy things and train themselves for it...

Is the whole RGK regimental sized strength?
11, 21, 22 are batallion-sized strength 800-1000 ppl each? So RGK total is about 3k lah?

Rasa lagi bahaya kalau training guna live bullet and tiba tiba masa demo tukar because I think live bullets have different physics and trajectory etc. At close range rubber bullet impact can kill too.
Unless they use blanks lah. Which defeats the point altogether.

I'm not in the army but my brother was, each time got cuti last time he come back to tell the stories. Even when got this SP friend. He took the beret off of his friends head and threw it off a bridge into the water. The SF friend literally just jump into the water without thinking just to retrieve the beret. Normal people don't think this way, I enjoyed the stories and I have huge respects for what they do and somewhat know what kind of training they do but can never truly understand it nor can I understand their thoughts. If we get attacked or the possibility of any terrorist threats I know for sure they'll take them down. I'm sure there are already events like these even if we don't hear about it in the news. So I'm thankful.
