As the topic suggest, I'm no longer have a counselor because she's furthering her studies starting this month. During our last session she wished me all the best and hope that I'll continue go to counseling as she laid down few options to me.

While I didn't show any kind of sadness when she break it down to me, I do feel like I just lost another 'important' person in my life. She's one of the very few that I'm comfortable with telling everything and I mean, everything. Till this day I refused to seek for another counselor as if like I cannot move on from her.

What say you guys?

to grow/develop/mature, you would need to get out of your comfort zone; this includes exploring for new counselors.

always have in mind that you can never get the same experience with that counselor from other counselors, some might be better, some might be worse but it wont be the same

That's what I'm afraid of. She did say the same thing. It took me quite some time to develop a trust between me and her and now all of sudden I have to look for a new one. I just wish it would be easy for me to move on.

Yes, people will naturally strive to live and grow to their fullness potential. Some times we may be stuck and do not know how to progress, and that's why we go for counselling to learn and to develop better coping skills so that we can continue to move on. Counselling is more than looking for someone you can trust to discuss about yourself, but is also to grow and to actualise yourself with the helps of the counsellor, so that you would be able to stand on your own feet one day.

hope you will continue your journey and be the best of yourself one day. If needed, it's still okay to seek helps. smile.gif

I'm still not ready to sail the boat myself. Given that I'm just getting started to recover from my downfall, I need every help I can get.
Thank you for the kind words smile.gif

Don't lose hope. Maybe you should just give it a try. Maybe tell the new counselor about the methods she deployed.

As they say, belum cuba, belum tahu. Curiosity and new ventures can be very rewarding sometimes.
