Heyz... I'm first timer here biggrin.gif

I just bought the new model of Sony NWD-B103F 1GB for RM199. Sounds are really good (although I never tried other MP3 Player), but a bit bulky compared to the E010 series. Another downside to reconsider is the battery life of maximum 12 hours only. The best part comes from the Drag and Drop Features which I noticed that many people complained about the Sonicstage program. It is literally Drag and Drop like a thumbdrive (sorry, i speak like a noob cry.gif )

I do recommend anyone to try this player. 2GB is RM299.

Here is two questions.

Since I'm a noob cry.gif can anyone recommend me a good earphone (not headphone) for a mp3 player? Other than Koss's KSC75 please (I want to make comparison). [Is creative ep-630 realli good? heard from sumwhere...]

Anyway, does the NWD-B103F have accesorries like silicon case or protector? Or it is not released?

Thanks~!!!

Heyz there! I have quite a number of questions here...

**********************

Question 1: [add theme song here]

Recently I borrowed my friend's Samsung U3 and compare it to my Sony NWD B103F. I realized that the function for "shuffle" is much different: U3's shuffle do not include repeat function whereas B103F's shuffle includes repeat function; that is, shuffle in U3 will not repeat the same songs being played before (unless restarting the player or all the song has been played already) whereas shuffle in B103F will at times repeat what has been played before (sometimes when I press 'next', it will play the same current song again T.T).

Is this true for all Samsung mp3 players (that is, 'shuffle' = shuffle ONLY) and Sony mp3 players (that is, 'shuffle' = shuffle + repeat) respectively? I find it irritating for the Sony to repeat the same song again.

**********************

Question 2:

Why is there a Samsung product called K5? Apparently, Samsung's website does not promote K5 at all. By the way, what happen to U2? Samsung's website does not promote it as well.

refer http://www.samsung.com

**********************

Question 3:

Can Samsung K3 beat all of Sony's mp3 players in terms of sound quality? What's the current price of K3 now?

**********************

Question 4:

How does the bitrate of an mp3 (e.g. 128kps, 320kps, etc.) affects the quality of the mp3? Does it affect in terms of amplitude (loudness), frequency range (pitch) or something else?

**********************

Question 5:

Am I asking too many questions?

**********************

=X

Hope to hear from you guys soon. =D

Wow encore! Thx for reply! I have achieved enlightenment. thumbup.gif

The biggest surprise in your reply is K5 = S5! Haha. Interesting model, but I find any audio model with speakers outside will provide not so good quality (I fancy sub woofer btw). Don't really like the idea of paying extra money for external speakers. Just my two cents. biggrin.gif

One more question: What does it mean "DAP"? [No, I'm not talking about politics here] This term has been used all over the audiophile forum, but a noob like me (seriously) can't understand. whistling.gif

Yo JY.! Thx for replying!

About the sony's 'shuffle' function, I think the only one that can choose between "shuffle" and "shuffle+repeat" is the new A-series model. Older models only let you choose "shuffle+repeat". Maybe I should need to recheck again. (my B103F can only do "shuffle+repeat") By the way, thanks for sharing your view on bitrates. biggrin.gif

One more question: Is there any significance difference between Sony and Samsung? What factor will let one choose Sony over Samsung or vice-versa?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Guys, what happen to Samsung's U2??? I heard it is a good model, but when I checked the website, it is not being promoted. rclxub.gif
Hey there!
I need advice in buying a video walkman...
Among these models:
1) Samsung's T10 4GB [RM539]
2) Sony's NWZ-A726 4GB [RM599]
3) Sony's NWZ-S616 4GB [RM499]
Which ones are better in terms of SQ? Which one is worth it in price? [Ignore Bluetooth function in T10] Btw, does Sony's NWZ-S616 have "shuffle" function (without "repeat")?
Thanks in advance. =D
Thx JY!!! I'm esp surprised when you mentioned about the S-series having shuffle and shuffle+repeat. That really helps alot. =D
Yo encore! Can elaborate about the difficulties of video converision for this three models (Samsung T10, Sony S616 and Sony A726)? By the way, wat is PMP? rclxub.gif
Thnks in advance to all of you guys!
Hmm... you mean the software provided by the CD will only allow us to convert the video files when it is connected to the mp3 player??? T.T
Btw, what format can only be played in Sony's A726/S616? Maybe I will try to find an external program from elsewhere where I can convert it without being connected to the player. =D
Yup, Sony sounds more artificially bassy. The sound that you hear is unlike the original sound compressed in a file.
I mean, with Sony your low bit rate songs may sound bit sweeter than normal
*
shocking.gif Sori, I would like to know what is 'artificially bassy'? And how was it produced? By the DAC or bundled earphones?
I'm a Sony user for a long time, so maybe I didn't realise such thing. tongue.gif And may hunt for a new mp3 player biggrin.gif
