Guys, a couple of years ago I purchased Philips Go Gear Mix 4gb, and it was a totally satisfying experience with it. But after 4 years, the battery went dead flat. So right now I need a good mp3 player (better or equal to the Go Gear). Can anyone recommend me some good ones? My budget is below RM 300.. Anyways, the idea of expandable memory is very very seducing tongue.gif
*
go for Cube c30, class AB amp inside OR
go for hippo gumstick, class A amp inside

both expandable RAM slot
plays FLAC and APE

drawback is buggy firmwares, 2 line display only

make it simple.
Cube C30 = AB class AMP, but got BBE function.  thumbup.gif
Hippo Gumstick = A class AMP  thumbup.gif

and they both are totally DIFFERENT brand. not upgrade version or what
*
but the similarity is at their software, i experimented a gumstick firmware on cube c30 and works flawlessly, only lose some BBE funcionality, dunno will work the other way or not

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_am...plifier_classes

BBE Sound is a premier audio technology company dedicated to improving the quality of amplified sound for all people, from everyday consumers to music and sound professionals. BBE High Definition Sound technologies are found throughout the audio entertainment production spectrum; from the stage and studio, where world-renowned musicians insist upon using BBE professional audio processors, to consumer electronics manufacturers who implement BBE High Definition Sound technologies into their products so that they provide a more satisfying audio experience to their customers.

the conclusion is whic one better sound? A class amp or ab class+bbe?
*
class A amp wastes a little more battery juice then class AB amp, but AB lacks the SQ in comparison with A, but compensated by the BBE, for me i prefer AB with BBE off, saves juice for longer playback, and cleaner output. BBE colors the sound and is up to personal preferences

i think if not mistaken gumstick cant use c30 firmware due to hardware difference, gumstick superior a bit, so cant use the lower grade C30 firmware, and hence no BBE

and yeah, Cube C30 come with F1 Pro In-Ear earphone! I feel is the BEST stock earphone ever!  thumbup.gif
*
do bear in mind that the F1Pro sound sig is not to a lot ppl's preference, cause it is low bass, high pitch, adequately enough detail (still got quite a lot detail loss), narrow soundstage, best for modern songs (pop especially)

oh, thanx for the additional info
btw, the earphone compare to razer moray which 1 is better?
*
they are in 2 different worlds, Moray is for gaming, so has quite punchy bass and treble to make games feel powerful, not for musicals, it also has a better soundstage

Guys, I've seen questions very much similar to mine --> c30 / sansa clip.

I'd like to know how big is the difference of both of em in terms of battery life? When you're on the go, guess it really have to last lol

Given such a small device, could it power an A.Technica m50 without an amp?

I could get the sansa clip for 25USD, whereas the C30 would have to get locally at 150~160.

If the advantages of C30 could justify its quality over the Sansa, I wouldn't mind forking out the extra bucks.

Please advice, and thanks in advance! smile.gif
*
A. C30 has internal class AB amp, may drive ( and i repeat MAY) the M50 at least more than 1/2 of its full potential
B. without BBE C30 runs like a marathon long battery life
C. Sansa Clip will need an amp, and maybe an external juice pack (if it even exists) to last long

if you are into lossless pure entertainment listening. you shud get an iDevice which is LOD compatible, LOD bypasses internal amp. then u put it fru an amp and voila, good sound
