well, amplifier is used to drive passive speaker. ur S2.1M already have an amp, but its inside the subwoofer box. if u're not using computer then get a DAC. having double amplifier to drive a speaker can kill it within seconds.

i have a budget of say rm500 tgo rm600.
i'm looking for a 2.1 but i wouldn't mind a 5.1.

i am an old guy and not into gaming at all.

all i want to do is listen to music on my pc.

i like to listen to my music loud but that is secondary to the fidelity of the sound meaning can i get the full sound range.

my mis manager says he swears by edifier.
cnet says buy logitech z-2300.
some other people say altec's mx-5021 or fx-6021

i have no clue.
all i want is a high fidelity speaker system on which can play loud (very loud) classical music if i want and also play avril's girlfriend loud.

please help.
budget can be adjusted slightly higher if needed.

Hi , I want to ask about my speaker problem.I been using like 3 years speaker altec lansing 4121.About few months ago my speaker got cracking sound when I turn on the speaker but after 10 sec or so it stop.
Always like that .Ask my friend say speaker going to die soon.I worry if spoil what othe good speaker to buy since last time I buy also same price as now.

in sg, u can try challenger @ funan to listen to some speakers.
or simlim sq - alphawave 6th floor. and one shop in 5th floor in front of escalator. they have plenty of speakers to try...

u wan 2.1 with meanest subwoofer then get VS4121. also its subwoofer is damn light, u can bring around easily. most probably vs4121 sub is only with particle board. its around 110SGD, but if u can bargain im sure u can get it for $100.

lol VS4121 sound is terrible. heard one clothes shop using it, can only hear boom from a distance.

how about edifier S330? its only about $129 in simlim if u are in sg.

have u checked the 5th and 6th level of SLS?
