Hehe, yeah that's truly a let down for creative's speaker.. because some fo them they are using the BASH amp and it produces a lot of heat.. or maybe it's because of the electricity that blow the cap.. but actually the problem isn't that serious too..
We have some sifu here to repair them too bcos normally it's bcos of the blown cap, if some channel doesn't produce any sound, it's 90% caused by the loosen cable inside the amp (they have cables for every channel to connect to the amp). Just open it, and tighten the cable, or fix their position by some UHU gum or what.. But still, not many ppl are willing to open up the amp unit as it's a bit risky (void warranty? im not sure hehe).. Anyway, it's still a let down point |

QUOTE(McRyan @ Jul 24 2007, 06:40 AM) wah, double attack, i surrender!! Hemm i myself own vs4121 lastime (3 years ago).. well, yeah, for trance music it's good, bcos of the overwhelming bass. I doubt it's good in movie too, yes u'll hear those great explosion and great sound effect, but sometimes i cant hear the conversation inside the movie, bcos the treble and mid is just too weak. For music? well, wat i mean is vs4121 is da best at tat price range, my opinion la lol Anyhow, still back to old saying, sound is subjective, as long as you like it and it suits your ear, then it's fine This post has been edited by nicholas_1213: Jul 24 2007, 10:23 AM |

Hemm, so far for whilte speaker, i only know MX5021 and aego, but both above your budget dy I need to find a decent 2.1 Speaker that is mostly WHITE. My budget is arround RM 300. Its really hard to find white products nowadays Really appreciate your comments. If possible state the shop that sell the speaker as well. Second hand items also will be considered. Thanks Maybe u can raise your budget high a bit and get the white MX5021 @ Kalakatu : THX speaker ah? MX5021 is one also.. ( Or else get the old legend ADA885 |

QUOTE(toro86 @ Aug 31 2007, 03:44 AM) Where can really test the aego-M speaker, heard many good reviews on its performance of playing music but not bass-type but which shop got a real demo for testing the sound?Quite curious for me. Hehe, ask those forumer who own an Aego to let you test, or else lastime i went to hifi shop in Wisma MPL (the one that Davis mentioned). The 1st thing u'll look at the size of the satellite then you'll start thinking whether that's really the sound produced by the the tiny satellite.edited : Some type This post has been edited by nicholas_1213: Aug 31 2007, 08:22 PM |

QUOTE(crescence @ Sep 2 2007, 08:37 PM) I just came back from Singapore, and I saw a Bose Companion 3 Series 2 being sold there for around $450. I heard the sound coming from these speakers, and it was orgasmic! I was seriously interested in it and wanted to buy it when my friend told me that it could get held by the customs if I tried to bring them over here. I don't know whether this is the correct place to ask this or not, but I want to know where can I buy these speakers and how much will they cost in Malaysia? Thank you. QUOTE(crescence @ Sep 3 2007, 08:32 PM) I just came back from One Utama and it seems that the Bose shop there is closed already. I'm gonna go to KLCC next weekend to find the speakers. I'm kinda new to this audiophille things, can someone give me a brief introduction + info on these things? Like, whether I should get an amp, or change my soundcard to compliment the Bose Companion 3 speakers? Thanks again. EDIT: Oh yeah, one more thing, I have a Sony STR-K840P amp together with the 5.1 speakers which my dad is willing to give me. Is this better than the Bose Companion 3 Series 2 speakers? QUOTE(crescence @ Sep 5 2007, 06:19 PM) Bro, from your post, guess that you had listened to both the Bose Companion 3 Series 2, and obviosly your dad's sony + 5.1 speakers as well. Since u said it was orgasmic to listen to Bose, did u get that feeling when you are listening to your dad's sony + 5.1 speakers? Just as jazzy939 said, almost none of us heard your dad's speaker system, so it's very hard for us to comment anything about it. Again the same saying, sound is subjective. Therefore, trust your ear (after all, the speaker will serve your ears |

QUOTE(snowcrash @ Sep 17 2007, 05:22 AM) So my ancient Logitech Z-540 4.1 speakers just died, so I need to go and get a new set of speakers. Since no one seems to sell 4.1 anymore, I've decided to drop to 2.1's instead (PC & Xbox360 are both in my bedroom, and can't really expand into a 5.1 anyway). MX5021 is not in your list ?? So I'm looking for a really good pair of 2.1 speakers. Primary is gonna be watching video's & gaming (PC & Xbox 360 will be hooked to it, Xbox is thru my PC Monitor as well). It must also be dependable. My Z-540's lasted the better part of 4 years, so I'd like them to last. I want to say that cost is no object (the constraint is more physical space in my room), but I don't wanna be too silly about it. Let's say I think it's ridiculous to go beyond RM700 for a 2.1 set. Though mind you, if it's really good I'll probably be able to convince myself. Right now I'm looking at: Altec Lansing FX 6021 I-Trigue L3800 Logitech Z-2300 One other thing that I'm looking for is easy availability. All three models above are easily available in LowYat. So, what do you guys recommend? Is there any other 2.1's that I should listen to. I know nuts about Klipsch and the other brands, so recommendations welcome. |

QUOTE(sheahann @ Sep 27 2007, 10:51 PM) For gaming and movie + if you are a bass head, then yes. If more to music listening, then better get some other speakers. The satellite sucks. It is just based on my hearing experience as i owned one VS4121 lastime for 2 years. |

QUOTE(Qmage @ Sep 28 2007, 03:23 AM) I need some recommendations please, not sure to choose a 2.1 or 5.1, can't decide on which model either Since you mainly use for music listening, get a 2.1. Aego M is a very good choice for you, but it depends on what kind of music that u listen. If you are a basshead, then AegoM might fail to impress you. Then u can use the remaining money (maybe top up a bit) to get some decent soundcard. I heard from the review that Prodigy HD2 from the bulk can pair up with AegoM pretty nice. U may try that. RM685 for aego, and RM390 for the card. - mainly use for music listening - use on a computer - budget is less than 1k |

QUOTE(kenzo @ Oct 9 2007, 08:20 AM) has any set of 2.1 comes at the range of 300MYR yet still giving a very good performance, initially set my eye on Aego, but its a lil pricey together with logitech z2300, edifier S2.1M, Altec lansing MX5021, most of them cost at atleast 400MYR up to 700MYR, i'm looking for something value for my money, if my speaker is not so powerful, i don't think i need a better card rite? on-board sounds 7.1 good enough? pls advise, thanks. Hemm, if u compare the performance / price ratio of AEGO M with other speaker, then u won't say that it's expensive, but in the other way round i use my speakers mostly for movies & musics only. The better soundcard gives you a better source. IMO it doesn't depend much whether the speaker is powerful or not, it's in term of the sound quality when u get yourself a soundcard.. onboard soundcard usually sucks bigtime. If for movie and musics only, u can forget about creative soundcard and get some other brand one. However, not familiar with good speaker around RM300 though.. |

I know VS4121 has a strong (muffled) bass.. but not really suitable for music listening.. Many will suggest edifier within that price range..

QUOTE(cschun86 @ Mar 22 2008, 11:08 AM) Hmm, need u guys opinion here, Erm i would suggest you to change your soundcard too (but it doesn't mean that speaker is less important). I am using altec lansing V4121, and using onboard sound card, should i change speaker 1st or get sound card 1st? my budget now just allow me to change one of them budget around 300-400~ It's bcos sooner or later u'll be needing a soundcard (even more important if you change your speaker). Source is very important in audio system. But again, just my 2cent. |

QUOTE(blessedvillain @ Apr 22 2008, 06:00 PM) Hehe bro i'm not that good la Well in the AllIT showroom condition, tested both s2.1m (or they called it s330) with the Edifier C3, and just simply listen to it less than 1 minute. Found that C3 is overall slightly muffled compare to s2.1m. I like how s2.1m bring out the midrange compared to C3. The bass is tighter and more accurate, giving overall a more detailed and balanced sound. Since only songs are played at the showroom, i'm not sure how they perform in gaming / movie, but for music listening i'll definitely pick s2.1m. The build quality is pretty solid too, just that it doesn't come with a remote Again to all, above is just based on less than 1 minute testing period, and each of us have our own listening preference. So don't take it too personal. I'm just sharing my thought |
