Hi, i wonder what to choose between Klipsch Promedia GMX 2.1 RM399 or Edifier S330 RM439, my friend having the older Edifier S2, which is very good. I'm little be adventurous.
Gaming 35% Movie 35% Music 30%
Kindly let me know also where to get these speaker with good price, usually is it negotiable or not the price at the store, pc fair get better price ? BTW, i'm also looking to buy X-FI Extreme Gamer to run on my nvidia chipest motherboard, cause the motherboard soundcard is IDT Sigmatel chipset which is way too....ahem. Do you think it's ok to buy from the seller here at Bulk Orders ? They had quite a good reputation, but i never really buy anything from the bulk.
Thank You

What do you mean the Klipsch treble too shard, can unsharp it ? i thought got treble control ? Where got S330 at that price any recommend shop, cause i check price list 439 from All IT. But definitely i will get the soundcard x-fi, i know this is speaker page, but my casing got 2 audio jack, AC97 and HD, can i plug the HD to the X-FI card. BTW whats the different between the 2? QUOTE(xk2 @ Nov 14 2008, 06:38 PM) First of all,the sound card that are selling by those forumer is a good buy,you can get those X-FI with very cheap price if compare to shop retail unit. Speaker wise,Both the Klipsch and Edifier is good speaker, but my personal feeling after listen the Klipsch is the treble too sharp, not sweet enough if compare to Edifier S330.its bass is quite good. For this i recomend u try the Edifier S330.U can get it for around RM390+ in low yat plaza.

Hi xk2, thanks for your advice, actually the reason i ask for Klipsch because of its popularity in home audio system, is there any advantage for this Klipsh vs S330, coz i'd done a little bit of reading over the last 64 pages, most people recommend to buy S330. What is is so good about this S330 over this Klipsch apart from it's good treble, actually i listen a lot classical music. heehe. Is it klipsch more for gaming ? PS Anyone got use this speaker or not, can give comment? it's altec lansing ACS295. http://www.hardwarezone.com/reviews/others/acs295/ada70.gifQUOTE(xk2 @ Nov 14 2008, 08:31 PM) sry for my bad,i should mention in more detail, the treble of klipsch is not too sharp, but not sweet enuff. i duno how to describe it,here i use 'dry' and 'wet' to describe the treble.Klipsch's treble is a bit 'dry' if compare to S330's treble. anyway,it jus my opinion.for ur reference only.i suggest u go listen them by urself. p/s: about the price,i think u can try nego with the shopkeeper, coz i see few days ago still got ppl manage to get it at RM380,u can see in Edifier fan club Added on November 16, 2008, 2:25 amAnyone got use this speaker or not, can give comment, it's altec lansing ACS295. http://www.hardwarezone.com/reviews/others/acs295/ada70.gifThis post has been edited by johnsilvermoore: Nov 16 2008, 02:25 AM

I think i got the model mixed up already. I read somewhere the S330 is a replacement of Sxxx model mentioned somewhere in this forum. But this Sxxx already out of production, my housemate actually using it right now with treble, balance, bass adjustment. If this is a replacement, what benefit of the current one over the older model? regards john paw QUOTE(xk2 @ Nov 17 2008, 01:25 AM) hoho,no la,s2000 is edifier's top 2.0 speaker while s330 is only the entry level of their s series 2.1 speaker.price tag oso far diffirent.u only can adjust bass level on s330.the treble is oredi tuned by edifier

correct, thats the one, i knew what to grab now, thanks. My mobo have a built in Sigmatel soundcard, the sound crack when i play Pie Jesu, currently using free sonic gear speaker from PC.COM many years ago, i wonder should change the speaker first or both at the same time? Looking into X-fi Extreme Gamer. Any suggestion ? by the way, what soundcard & speaeker you are using ? QUOTE(xk2 @ Nov 18 2008, 05:56 PM) S330 is actually replace the old S2.1/S2.1D (refer picture below). One of the major benefit of S330 is the tweeter and its design. The 2 piano paint design satelites is much more nicer to look if compare to the old S2.1.Sound is clearer, thanks to the tweeter, and bass is tighter than the old S2.1.Even though the old S2.1 is quite good oredi, but the new S330 is mean to improve it.
