hye there guys. I'm planning on buying a 5.1 multimedia speaker, but I can't exactly choose one since I'm such a noob in choosing speakers. My budget is from 300 - 500. For your info, I'll be using the Asus P6T deluxe's on board sound card.
Most of my friend ask me to go for Edifier r501 (RM399), but I'm kinda interested with Logitech G51 though it's way out of my budget with a current price worth RM650.
So can you guys suggest me one that better for me (a metal; speed metal to be exact and rock songs fan). The quality of the bass sound will be the major factor for me. I'll be also using this speaker for gaming purposes (COD and FAR CRY 2).
Any series from any brand will be excepted as long as it is certified by you guys. Thanx

QUOTE(nismo91 @ Feb 5 2009, 10:58 AM) u can also try a Creative G500. QUOTE(zeustronic @ Feb 5 2009, 11:17 PM) My Personal taste Edifier DA5000 sound better than Logitech G51 I saw and experienced the sound produced by Edifier DA5000 today at Sri Computers but with a whopping price of Rm699 I don't think I can afford it anytime sooner. However, I never came across Creative G500 in any shops at Lowyat. Maybe I overlooked or something but the funny thing is, none of the salesman talked about Creative speakers let alone promoting the G500. Read about it a lot and somehow I feel this is the speaker for me. But I wanna listen to it 1st. Nismo91, what is the current price for this model and where can I buy it.

QUOTE(zeustronic @ Feb 6 2009, 10:54 PM) Well... for me like thumping bass too but not heavy tight bass for movies, too much humming bass in a small rooms might decrease sound detail. So i revised the price list from a shop at Imbi and find out that they're selling the G500 at RM850 and the DA5000 worth RM600. So regardless my budget, which one I should go for in terms of the price-quality ratio. One more thing is, I'm quite sure that G500 will have any problem producing sound in higher volumes but how with DA5000? Like I said before I'm a metal songs fan, so maybe you guys know the level of volume I prefer the most. So, does DA5000 have what it takes?

Upon Comparing the speakers yesterday at lowyat, I come up with a conclusion. If you wanna go for a 5.1, DA5000 is the best for metal songs and to all bass heads that looking for a quality bass sound, this is the speaker you actually searching for. With the current price of RM610, I'll definitely buy this one in two days time. Zeustronic is actually right. Thanx dude. The 5 channels produce a very clean rhythm sound together with a very clear symbals and Hi hat sound. I can even recognize what type of symbal by just hearing the sound, that's how clean it is. The bass is good for those who wants a deep bass sound. Actually the sales guy was very lazy so i took the liberty to adjust the bass level and I found out that I can work it out in such an ease to produce a good deep bass sound. Normally I'll waste a lot of time doing that (I'm using some chikai speaker before).
@faezfarhan, forget about the Enzo's. They produce the most annoying sound. I'm sorry to any Enzo fans and owners but this is what I actually experience in my 2 days experience at Lowyat. Some more the enzo bass sound are not impressive at all. Have to admit, the design is much more better than any other 5.1 speakers but speakers are not about the design. Anyway, its just my 2 cents.
Thanx to all that helped me.

QUOTE(xk2 @ Mar 17 2009, 03:45 PM) Can consider the Edifier DA5000 or R501mk2 at RM399. Powerful blaster for metal song Yupe, tested it in Sri Comp, really nice and got a remote control rite. But never tested it with a metal songs. So that's why I'm waiting for the users review. Last time, it was selling for Rm 610. Thanks~ Any other suggestion??

QUOTE(xk2 @ Mar 19 2009, 11:43 AM) i experienced with it, playing with my fren's R501 mk2, it perform great with techno and heavy metal song, the woofer can 'come close ' to S530D while playing techno and bass oriented song, but the clarity of satelites are no match with S530D , S530D's woofer also win in terms of more solid and clean bass and able to maintain the performace even at very high volume I think maybe you misunderstood. My previous was about the DA5000. I dunno bout S530D's performance since I was focusing more to the speakers within my budget. How much is the S530D anyway? For me, DA5000 is a much better speaker i tested both Da5000 and R501 mk2 side by side.
