Hi, I have similar musical interest like yours and have done some research and just bought a well recommended 2.1 speakers. It is the Gigaworks (Creative) T-3. I bought it from Lowyat Plaza and it costs me RM509.00. There is no display unit available and so you can't audit the speakers system before you make a decision to buy or not.

You are right about the price of T-3 at ALL IT. I bought my T-3 from Jayacom (level 3) for RM509.00. It is a brand new set. So far I am very impressed of the quality of sound it produces. Bass is adjustable and as tight as it can be. The puny pair of speakers do wonder of producing crisp clear mid-range pitched sound.
There were only two boxes of T-3 available when I bought mine. I am not so sure if there is any stock available. Good luck to you if you are looking for one.
