I'm more into rock songs... and i use it for gaming too.... and abiiiiiiiit of movie. I like the Aego M and many members have been giving some good reviews on it, but also there are ppl saying the base is not strong enuf? As i like rock songs, and also some gaming... is Aego M's base a concern?

Hi, can anyone recommend a good 2.1 speaker set for RM300-400? I will be using it mostly for music and movies. Sound quality is more important than bass for me.

Looking at the thread so far, seems like the best is Edifier C3 is it?

i think u should go for s2.1m,which is best in sound quality below rm400,trust me

Additional for my previous post.... Although i own MX5021, i like the AegoM bass than my MX5021. AegoM's bass very tight (better than MX5021 in this point), with balancing level of bass.

Gaming and movie > z2300, GMX 2.1
To be honest, personally not satisfy with MX5021 because its bass not heavy enough, but its play very well in gaming and movie except Techno and Disco songs.

some like tight bass, some like boomy bass. But I cannot agree that AegoM bass is powerful. It's tight and accurate, but a little on the gentle side. I seriously doubt that AegoM can handle Techno and Disco songs.

MX5021 depends where u place it...in my 5mX6m room, i nearly fight with my international neighbour due to my speaker bass...

Your room is wooden wall or brick wall ? My room is wooden wall, bass unable reflect with wooden wall; so hard to feel the bass...

Brick wall....thick brick wall(double brick) without any EQ tuning and speaker setting at default, the bass shake my heart and penetrate to put my neighbour's room in hell, the feeling same as in the cinema...everytime i will heard my neighbour beating the wall between us strongly to warn me, too many times adi...WTF...

Hemm y'day went to lowyat wif my bro (he is buying pc), after some quick testing of the model among edifier (below RM400), end up we choose s2.1m too.. compared to C3. So i kinda second that..

Anyway, not sure below RM400 what else u can get thou

so how is edifier s2.1m? must really hear nicholas_1213's comments on those speakers...

Well in the AllIT showroom condition, tested both s2.1m (or they called it s330) with the Edifier C3, and just simply listen to it less than 1 minute.

Found that C3 is overall slightly muffled compare to s2.1m. I like how s2.1m bring out the midrange compared to C3. The bass is tighter and more accurate, giving overall a more detailed and balanced sound. Since only songs are played at the showroom, i'm not sure how they perform in gaming / movie, but for music listening i'll definitely pick s2.1m. The build quality is pretty solid too, just that it doesn't come with a remote

Again to all, above is just based on less than 1 minute testing period, and each of us have our own listening preference. So don't take it too personal. I'm just sharing my thought Cheers!

You can buy AegoM from Scotty, i think you can't find cheapest price than Scotty at Pearl Island.
