no offence, but u certainly are the 1st one i have seen in lyn using "damn clear" to describe VS4121 laugh.gif

no doubts, i have tested too many times on VS4121, fren's unit and lowyat plaza also. my fren's unit is the 1st batch oh, heard that altec speaker always the best at 1st batch, the later batch will start cut cost on material. i have the same feeling with walabies, don't you feel the way of VS4121 sound like taking a cloth cover the speaker? have u notice the mid-range driver are facing the table? such a design how to sound clear? u can try let the speaker satelite lie down let the mid range facing u then u will find it actually sounds better than normal... lolz this is solely the satelite problem, the subwoofer part if u compare it with atp3 u will find that atp3 have more accurate bass, VS4121 bass is somehow overwhelming the mid and high frequency sound hence it sounds blur in general, unless u turn the bass off then it may clearer but how can we stick with speaker that no bass? biggrin.gif

Well, another thing was very important is the soundcard like Pcwork mention before...If you get a very good soundcard it may even sounds better like Hi-fi...and somehow why he use the word DAMN CLEAR? rclxub.gif If that is clear then AegoM is wat? It is the best way to go there and hear it by ur own then compare.... biggrin.gif

Hemm i myself own vs4121 lastime (3 years ago).. well, yeah, for trance music it's good, bcos of the overwhelming bass. I doubt it's good in movie too, yes u'll hear those great explosion and great sound effect, but sometimes i cant hear the conversation inside the movie, bcos the treble and mid is just too weak. For music? sweat.gif (sorry to say that, but the above is just based on my experience on vs4121). Pairing it with a soundcard (i pair up with A2ZS lastime) will kinda 'remove the clothes' from the satellite (this is the best layman description for the sound from the satellite sweat.gif ), but still it's too weak. The treble/bass ratio just isn't right.

Anyhow, still back to old saying, sound is subjective, as long as you like it and it suits your ear, then it's fine icon_rolleyes.gif enjoy it bro biggrin.gif

Haha ... don't attack him some more la. I guess having the Altec Lansing logo on the speaker itself is a huge endorsement when it comes to deciding. If the buyer is happy with the product I guess it is a win-win situation.

Listen more to speakers and train your ears then you will know what 'clarity' means.

Yes...Is quite good but you will feel a bit lack of bass in some song because it is a 2.1 not 2.1 multimedia... biggrin.gif

Tomolo going for a speaker.... smile.gif
so i had gone through all the thread and the speaker page..
so i can say conclusion most of the ppl here aim for
- M3300 / M3400 (i cant find M3400 in the web)
- VS4121
- ATP3
- Klipsh 2.0

Just wanna some suggestion, correct me if i am wrong.
my budget would be around 400, would like to get a 2.1,
main purpose is for music, movie and gaming (yes,... i like DOTA... but still a noobie tongue.gif)

so is there anything need to lookup when buy a speaker? or just looking whether its nice/pretty/cool style only or there is some how check whether will it generate heat? coz i scare tat it tak tahan heat... my room sometime will be very hot in the afternoon.... -.-"

Ello all pros

I would like to get a 2.1..As I was wondering around MidValley yesterday..I saw Sonic Gear Armaggeddon A5..I liked it..the sound quality is nice (for me =P) and it meets my budget

I visited another shop in MV..and saw a blue colored version of the A5..and I totally fell in love with that =P

And now I just found out that the blue version is not Armaggeddon A5..instead it is the BT3 (Blue Thunder 3) and it is slight cheaper than the A5..

How are the 2 different in each other when they look exactly the same and has the exact same specs?

Specs from Sonic Gear's website

Greetings smile.gif

I'm thinking of purchasing the THX speaker, don't really mind if its 2.1 or 5.1, and prefer the black color.
Anyone can recommend me a good model?
About the budget, I prefer as cheap as possible tongue.gif

Thanks for the guide smile.gif
