QUOTE(alanloo8128 @ Jul 13 2009, 11:16 PM) hi to all pro....need help R501 is better than that BlueThunder, no matter sound quality or the speaker itself.low frequency not too concern on it since already bought "altec alnsing XA3001 woofer". my budget is below rm350. Edifier R501 mk2 is too exp for me plus i use it in my room only. Use it for listen music and watch movie (surround sound). i research a lot of forum from low yat, most of it support Armageddon and blue thunder (sonic gear). As for the edifier, most of it recommend r501 or c3. Before i go to the shop listen for the both speaker quality,i would like to ask u guys suggestions first. currently using creative xi fi extreme audio. please give some suggestions. thanks a lot... QUOTE(alanloo8128 @ Jul 13 2009, 11:57 PM) What kind of system are you looking for? 2.0, 2.1 5.1?? What is your demand for your speaker...?? |

QUOTE(limhongwoon @ Jul 13 2009, 07:10 PM) They are right, better you try read online reviews as we can recommend only to your needs and you gotta do the rest. For your question i can say asus cards have been compared to more expensive DACs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital-to-analog_converter) in musicality Search Trade section for sellers to find out the price + models available on the respective manufacturer website. Even youtube got review on soundcards. |

QUOTE(hermit23 @ Jul 14 2009, 11:29 AM) I think these external soundcard can't compete with those "internal" one, however, you can try the Maya if you've got pretty gd budget for SC, otherwise grab the Asus Xonar U1, Creative X-FI 5.1 or Creative X-Mod will do. |

Can, but it will be much pricey for a good external DAC. But usually it is for recording purpose. |

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Jul 14 2009, 12:21 PM) Haha, you mean the Maya for DJ or smth like that one? That's very very very expensive man, for rich kids only, I rather spend the money on better speaker instead of the SC |

Not really for rich kid, top Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card like Titanium, Champion, Fatal1ty series also in the same price region with that recording pro sound card.
It just the user preferences and taste. |

ESI/ Audiotrak..but i'm not sure if these card support 3.5mm mini jack and RCA, because most of pro sound card support 1/4 TRS. Furthermore, don't expect frequent driver update for these sound card because the architecture of these sc is more complex than consumer-grade sound card. Audiotrak has ended all of their product support since 2007, so no driver update since 2007 which is buggy for Vista because at that time Vista were fresh green. ESI still maintain it to today. |

So you are going to use your xa3001 + a set of 5.1 system?? I don't know how small is your room, but if you place big monster 5.1 such as s550, the surround is not gonna perform well. Since you want a 5.1 system for the surround, and with a budget which is rm400+- (is that right?), R501 is the best I think, cause with that budget you don't have much option. |

ESI Juli@ and Maya i think their latest driver is between 2008 - 2009. Audiotrak website was abandoned since 2007 not recommend if you plan to migrate to Win 7.from what i know w7 doesn't support drivers from xp doesn't it mean it will become obsolete until new drivers are out |

QUOTE act my budget is around rm300 only...i also consider r501 since just once only... Haha I can't help you this, I'm not a m3500 or r501 user.bro, can u explain a bit for m3500 vs r501(if u know)?i wish to know their pro and con... But the link below might help you out R501 But if you do have extra budget for r501, why don't you just go for it? There must be some differences if the price is different, provided they both are products from Edifier, but you need to audit lah, to see which suits you the best.
