i tried it with my x-fi fatality , it does increase the soundstage, and overall sound more detail, but the sound that come out from x-fi is not warm , a bit ''cold'' laugh.gif in my opinion, i think soundcard such as ooAoo SQ210A and Audiotrack Prodigy HD2 will better than x-fi in driving S330, really wish to try it.Tried my fren's sq210a with his 4121, it is very hard to determine the differnet with 4121 but i can detect that the sound is better than my 4121+ x-fi, i bet if pairing it with a nice speaker such as S330 , the result will very obvious.I currently using my S330 with onboard realtek alc663, not satisfy with it sweat.gif , but due to no money now, so ... have to close one eye first sweat.gif

i experienced with it, playing with my fren's R501 mk2, it perform great with techno and heavy metal song, the woofer can 'come close ' to S530D while playing techno and bass oriented song, but the clarity of satelites are no match with S530D , S530D's woofer also win in terms of more solid and clean bass and able to maintain the performace even at very high volume biggrin.gif

u gonna listen it to believe biggrin.gif most shop put the S730's satelites close together with the woofer , very compact setup , it still perform great with this kind of placement, u can imagine if u bring it back and put nicely , the sound will far better than wat u hear in shop biggrin.gif The satelites of S730 is ''sweeter'' than S530D 's and the bass is clean and accurate despite it's huge size. thumbup.gif

Subwoofer of S730 produce clean and accurate bass ( in Chinese : 豪无拖泥带水 laugh.gif ) but also can be use as a boom box , depend on how u use / tweak/ pair / place it biggrin.gif

Ya bro , i tested the S730D last time , the sound is far better than S530D , actually i oso not very like the S530D , it's satelites lack of '' sweetness '' for me , even S330 produce ''sweeter'' sound than it. Well, will wait and see how later biggrin.gif Maybe i will change my mind brows.gif

The shop is PC SPEC, if u wan shokking bass, S330 dun have blush.gif the bass of s330 is ngam ngam enuff . not extremely boomy , if u mainly listen to those western Hip hop / pop song , the s330's bass might disapointed u biggrin.gif , but the clarity of satelites is better than c3

If u are bass lover , S330 might not suitable for u , becoz it will not deliver bass such as wat u hear in MX5021 other altec, the bass of S330 is jus the right , never too over , tight , perfect for musical listening .


My opinion about S330 :
If ppl think S530D is jus a S330 with jus bigger driver and power , it is wrong. The sound characteristic of these 2 speaker is totaly different.
It sounds different with S530D , S330 is outperform S530D at low volume in my opinion , S530D canot give the ''relax'' feeling to me laugh.gif Thx to the outstanding tweeter and well controled woofer of S330. Oh ya , pls do not judge S330 based on wat u hear in shop biggrin.gif The placement is not ideal to let ppl listen the true potential of speaker. Jus can get basic idea how it can sounds.

I try to put my s330 on table ( similar setup in shop ) , and try listen to it ( i never try this b4 since the first day i bought it ). The powerful bass that i listened daily gone , but the clarity of satelites still remain and excellent . Just to tell that this kind of setup is a nono for test speaker biggrin.gif
