i don't really choose M3300 for gaming.
the ATP3 might perform better if it's used for gaming.

anyway M3400 might be preffered upon M3300 if used for gaming.
generally (incl. me) if i want a speaker for gaming, i found the speaker which produce most loosen bass like BT2/3 or Vs4121. but as im listening to music more, M3300 would be better.

but some people want to have both clarity and bass boost. so both can be achieved, but not on M3300 for sure, although its clarity really impressive on 200 tag.

for the sinnewave. edifier have a program called sound generator too.
no need to use mp3 from different frequency, just open the software and enter the desired frequency level. software very small hence convenient.

for the JBL encounter price, usually near the Soundsticks II price.
about 180USD - 200USD.

I am in audio industry and listen to a lot of speaker..

Use to buy a lot of ATP3 for friend, etc...

the other day want to buy an ATP3 for my self just for my laptop when I am home.. end up with Sonic Gear BT3... I try too many Altec Lansing so just want to try some other...

another reason I bought BT3 becoz it use all standard connector..

after 2-3 week listen, tuning, fine tune EQ of it.. I come to a conclusion about BT3..

answer = it suck.. suck big time.. the satellite use 2 same driver for mid.. without any engineering reason.. 2 same driver use to place together to achieve throwing the sound far .. for a near field PC speaker, drive the 2 same driver together with same sound.. it doesn't work...

another thing suck big time for the satellite is, it produce a lot of Plastic sound.. it supprise me a lot becoz the box are made from wood and kind of heavy compare to other speaker.. like ATP3.... doh.gif doh.gif

Damn disappointed with it.. thinking to add in some thing into the box itself to reduce the plastic sound... open it up, damn it.. 3 driver in the satellite.. NO CROSSOVER.... doh.gif all loop through... except 1 little capacitor for the top Tweeter... doh.gif ah.. damn pissed..

Now I running the Sub to my TANNOY passive studio monitor... of course can't compare the Studio monitor to the BT3 Satellite.... one of the MOnitor can buy 4-5 set of BT3 set...

The Amplified signal still sound fine to my monitor.. but still some unknow weird sound from it... hay...

who want the BT3.. I sell it cheap cheap.. doh.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

two mid drivers place in one satellite actually not a weird design, Altec Lansing MX5021 and Eacan A600 also like that, but the sound quality is totally different from BT3, such design has advantage, it can produce a clear and high charity vocal if it is designed in the right way, but also can spoils the whole system if it sounds bad, even a single midrange only(like Altec Lansing VS4121)...i want to buy BT3 before because the design look attractive, the size is big and the woofer is heavy and wooden, but after i heard it, i found that it not sounds as i expect..............about the crossover u stated, i think u probably couldn't find crossover in any PC speaker satellite, because almost all PC speakers use "active crossover" instead of "passive crossover".

Passive Crossover using the resistor-capacitor-inductor (RLC circuit), it using those component characteristic to filter the sound frequencies, it only low down certain frequencies level without cutoff completely, so it usually sounds more nature in default, this kind of crossover can easily found in most 2.0 home stand speaker, but this crossover normally is heavy in weight and consume a lot of space, so PC speaker normally using active crossover instead of passive one... active crossover is using the IC to set the crossover frequency of the driver, this kind of crossover windy used in PC speaker because it can cutoff high and low frequencies completely so that the woofer unit only produce the bass sound and pass the mid and high to the satellite driver, but it leads to another problem, many PC speakers found that the existance of crossover gap, which means certain frequency is very weak due to over filtered, it probably due to its own design problem and the material characteristic of the driver, so normally PC speaker need to tune the equalizer to compensate those weak frequency band. icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Ya, i know what u are talking about... i am talking about crossover inside the satellite...because u said u feel pity when u open the satellite, "NO CROSSOVER and ALL LOOP THROUGH, except 1 little capacitor for the top tweeter".....don't so surprise, you wouldn't find crossover in any PC speaker satellite one... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif
