Hi, would like to seek for opinion from any electrician with experience here. I am in the midst of arranging to renovate my house (three phase wiring terrace if it matters) living room has 4 lighting points total, one switch = two points. total 2 light switches. I engaged with a general contractor, I wanted to make total 8 lighting points for 8 surface lights instead of the original 4. Means 1 switch = 4 points. He said cannot for this type of LED light because will cause tripping, but the lighting shop people tell me it doesn't matter how many lights I put since they're all LEDs they don't draw much power anyway. He said must create new lighting switch from the distribution box. 1 LED surface light = 36W Can anyone please advice me if contractor is right or lighting shop ah? thanks! QUOTE(pretty23 @ Aug 31 2019, 08:31 AM) So you mean total 2 switches, when you switch on 1 switch then 4 lights will on ? Yup boss QUOTE(cintamani83 @ Aug 31 2019, 09:47 AM) it all depends on your fuse box? u take picture of your light useless. HI, checked the db, it says 10A, wires look thick too. In your opinion do you think this is fine? Thank you so much for your input

QUOTE(pretty23 @ Aug 31 2019, 10:56 AM) You want single 10A MCB to connect 8 units LED light each unit 35w? And apparently 2 fans also. Overload? If 6 lights + 2 fans?

QUOTE(howszat @ Aug 31 2019, 12:13 PM) Shop people are right. LEDs, fans all low wattage, would not cause trip. Something like this contractor also don't know, better change contractor. QUOTE(pretty23 @ Aug 31 2019, 12:20 PM) 10A x 240V = 2400W 80% 2400W = 1920W 36 x 8 = 288W + 2 fans still below the 1920W. Should not be a problem. Thank you very much for your feedback! I appreciate it very much. Is there a certain type of wire thickness that I need to insist for the contractor to use?

QUOTE(pretty23 @ Aug 31 2019, 04:54 PM) I see, going by this chart I guess I don't need to insist any type of wiring thickness then, thank you!
