I just installed Aptoide a month ago, smooth as hell. The thing is if Google wants a pie of Huawei's user, they will find ways to provide a proper apk. There will be a dedicated website where users can just to there to download, and there will be step by step instructions. Very simple.

There already is a dedicated site just for google services for all/most phones.

https://opengapps.org/

few problems though.

1. since huawei sends telemetry data of your phone activity to China, they prevent people from disabling this "feature" by locking the bootloader in the most extreme way, even by Chinese standards. so no, you still can't "install" gapps.

2. have you seen the process of rooting P30 Pro? laugh.gif

3. gapps are not like how it used to. it used to be "just an apk" but not anymore. if you want a reliable gapps, you need root access. and since huawei die2 will not give you root access.... seriously, if you wanna tinker with your phone, why did you get huawei? they are even worse than samseng's knox.

4. you wouldn't want to install some random apk when it comes to google play. seriously. it's not like last time when google play is just an app store.

cannot sideload?

last time can

maybe possible with pico gapps, but even if you can, google services are so complex now that you'll risk force closing gapps/google service every few secs without root access or recovery access.

consider that the main important "app" is not google play, but google service. last time can la, when google play is mostly its own app. now even fingerprint reader is "built in" inside google service that links with google play and others.

long story short, if consumers cannot push huawei/china to open their bootloader or even recovery, then don't bother.
