I am looking got Thinkpad for photo process and regular use. Not into gaming too. Prefered Ryzen too. Only saw T series have AMD but not P series sad.gif

Any recommendation within thinkpad Range or better off in another brand.

Just an 2 cents observation.... the 4000H series are the ones that shine in performance and yet no Thinkpads/similar models this year uses it... except the Legion 5 gaming (it looses it built quality being all plastic, but otherwise should be great for application processes will being less than half of a P-series...)

It's possible that only next year's 5k series APU will be in better options...

Ah, screen wise is considered okay for Photo/Video editing with regards to Legion 5 as usually i read that gaming laptop screen have diff spec compare to those that were focused toward photo/video edit

So the Ryzen 7 Pro 4750U that were on T14 were not as umph as say 4000H series? icon_question.gif

Just further check that I dont really need the P series power since I only run photo edit program and not running any rendering stuff which P series was for hence i narrowed it down to the T14 (not T14's series) with Ryzen 4750U.

Thinking of replacing my 13 year old laptop that was keep alive due to the use of SSD and max 4gb is just bare minimum for today apps laugh.gif

Can you recommend any retailer that have showcase of Thinkpad model where I can have good look at it? I only know the one in PJ Digital Mall which also have its online store where most of the thinkpad listed was sold out other than the entry level's one.

Also, I just realized the newer thinkpad were not of the yesteryears thinkpads (T440/480 series) where things are easy to replace and there is no fix battery like current year model doh.gif have quick look on refurb/used thinkpad and it is not cheap & they do not have good screen that I needed for photo edit. Not to mention the condition can see it was used heavily.

A 4800H (vs 4800U) that allows the APU to trubo-up to 72-74W... (on most multi-threaded apps) gains up to 50% more performance (4800U limited to 45W)< the APU performance boost due to cooling performance of the Legion 5...

4800H vs 4750U: 60-75% (advantage on former)...

Legion 5 has the option for 100% sRGB panel at 144Hz fresh rate (3-5ms pixel speeds), good enough colour accuracy.... and a choice of dGPUs (1650/1650Ti/1660Ti/2060) will crush graphical/video works (even if you don't game)...

Personally, among all the thinkpads...the L15 is a good choice if it has a good panel option (for Malaysia, 300nits 100%sRGB NOT available)...

Replacing battery on the curent Thinkpad/Legion is just a 5 minute job...

Thank for sharing the info thumbsup.gif

Its a pity that Malaysia dont have much choice with regards to config for thinkpad. Build wise, does L15 comparable to higher tier Thinkpad? I mean thickness is not a problem as I tend to park my laptop at one location most of the time. Not sure about other build aspect.

Just a quick question, is Z16 worth to get it? My understanding is that it is not build as per what Thinkpad was supposed to be previously.

The part that attracted me is the 100% RGB Screen as well as the H series ryzen which more or less with the least restriction as other mobile ryzen.

Saw the P series ryzen but they only come in the Slim version and not the bigger/heavier size type and only came with U series ryzen
