yeah,that works too,but it will be really awkward,because at times you might be hitting a cymbal to hit a tom,or vice versa.
that's why i'm getting the rock band drums

hopefully they dont take a year to release rock band 2 next time. i'll be pretty pissed off if i don't see it by march 09.

i'm just telling you this in advance,it's gonna feel really strange.having world tour's track compress from 5 to 4 tracks makes the game feel more like rock band,but rock band's tracks just don't change.

it'll feel uneven,having to fit 5 into 4 tracks.you'll be stuck with on button for one track,so i heard.

for example,run to the hills on expert.you hit the yellow ones in the beginning,then the tom to the right,right?
if it were on guitar hero drums,you might set it to yellow being the left cymbal,but that messes it up.
after the intro,when the fast mashing on the hi-hat starts,the hi-hat changes from yellow to red.
therefore,you will start hitting the guitar hero snare for hi hat,and the left cymbal for snare.

you get how this just confuses things?
i'm just telling in advance,the guitar hero drums are awesome,just not good if you're gonna play rock band.

i already have my sexy les paul and a headset.

funny thing about the headset,i took a spoilt karaoke microphone and stuffed the head set in there(it's a phone headset,used it to send a message.works like a charm)

I'm waiting for approval from local EA distro to release the Malaysian price but from what I heard, the instruments-only package is around RM 600-ish, close to 700 while the full blown package cost almost RM 900. Haven't got the news for other packages.

Personally, I'm gonna get GH:WT and then get RB + RB2 stand-alone game. Dude can't blown RM 2k for just two games, mau makan apa nanti...

Instruments Edition (Guitar + Drum + Microphone minus the game): RM 699

The standalone game is also available, but the final price is not yet confirmed and if you noticed, the price is slightly higher compared to Singapore. This is due to tax + shipping as usual.

don't assume first, cause hardly we can get any dlc yet from the state. hopefully the asian server does have ...

they said rock band should go to their showroom on the 10th of october.
official prices are:

Drums=RM459
Guitar=RM319
Special Edition Bundle=RM699
Standalone game=RM189

Meanwhile, about DLC, I downloaded a free song sometime ago (early this year or end of last year) - Still Alive by Jonathan Coulton. To my suprise, the song is playable. So, I assume other DLCs song can be played as well but don't take my words for it. Afraid later you'll waste your MS points

no duh.dlc is international,any dlc will work,similar to how a us save file will work on asian consoles.
my brother already bought 5 songs.too late...

Yeah...... all the songs shouldn't be a problem. Will download some a7x, Metallica and Megadeth once I get more MS points
