Hi. Although I can change to new tyres, how can I prevent it in the future? Only front tyres have the problem (both sides). 3 years old less than 10k km, never done rotation before. Some say alignment is off, some say cos tyres already old. Some say didnt put enuff air. Thanks.

Still can use if i do rotation? The cracks are scary.

My thread wear still alot. Back tyres are still in perfect condition. Only front is like that. Less than 10k km drive. Can replace all but just wana know if can prevent from happening.

Already. 2016. Bought in 2016 so 3 years. Just that there might be something I am missing. Probably under inflate tires for the front.

Yes I suspect is cos of under infiltrate too. Happened to my old tyres also (diff brand). Weird that the back tyres are still in perfect condition, just that this front ones are like that. Q is can i still use if i rotate? Or do i need to get new ones?

Side sticker recommended 220 kpa or 31psi.

I used to pump at 200 due to some advise to pump lower than the recommended spec, thus my old tyres suffered the same fate like this, thus there must be my fault of doing it wrong. Lately I am pumping at 220/230 again when others commented that the car seems to have not enuff air. Asking around, many ppl advised that tyres need to change at the 2-3 years period, but I am not satisfied with the answer due to mine having low mileage (the older tires have almost 35k km in 3 years, so maybe its understandable that its worn out and i never rotate it before).

Thus i posted here to ask for more advise. Having little or no knowledge on tyres is really scary, scared of tyres blown and other horror stories. I did not rotate this tyre cos usually ppl advise to only rotate above 10k km.

Thanks for the infos, i guess i can call you sifu. Yes its a common myth to change tyres every 2-3 years. I know some even change after 2 years. Most of the time when i asked outsiders for advise, i usually got the answer that tyres are not that expensive, around RM500-RM600 for 4 tyres, and they see no reason not to change every 2-3 years and i should not be stingy.

So from the link u shared, i should pump slightly higher than recommended psi, correct? As the front tyres need to support engine, i notice that the tyres tend to sink slightly even after pumping air into it.

Yeah, my bad. The reason that i didn't cos it was less than 10k km. But I guess nowadays I should rotate at least once a year instead of looking at mileage.

My bad due to listening to an advise of an elder user to pump lower. It always bug me cos my front tyres sink abit after pumping. Its only recent months that i pump to the specification.

Hi i just saw your msg. Well i got the advise from some old driver, the reason is to avoid over inflate the tyres, resulting in bursting. Anyway diff people have diff opinions though, this old driver might change his tyres very often, so he does not have my problem. Recently I asked another friend and he said best to change every year regardless of the mileage (which he did to his car). Like I stated earlier, I can afford to change tyres even every year (RM500-600 for 4 brand new tyres) but I am more interested to know the cause of it. It's like changing engine oil, i do know some people that still change every 6 months without giving any thoughts about whether it is needed or not; they just know that engine oil is not expensive and new oil should be good for the car.

Anyway from the comments here by helpful forumers, i had weighted all the opinions and i had decided to keep using for longer period before changing to a new one, not because i am stingy, but because my tyres can still be used.

The norm is x pattern. If i am not mistaken, my car's guide booklet also suggested the x pattern.

Yeah, i suspect that it has not enough air inside it. Furthermore my car is parked 24/7 outside the main road without any shelter. The back tyres are extremely perfect though.
