Hi everyone, I'm planning to change my HU for my Forte to either a Kenwood 5180s or any of the 9 series. Main factor is the inclusion of AA/CP and of course sound quality upgrade. Would like some pointers as to the speaker. Are the stock speakers good enough or are there any budget friendly upgrades that I can do. I'm just a casual music listener but spend 2-3 hours in the car for my daily commute so a good sounding sound system would be nice.

PS: I love the sound system in my dads Kia K5. If I can get that kind of quality in my Forte I'd be happy.

Just add in a DSP while using all the stock speaker? Would that be budget friendly (as in, below RM500)? Can notice the difference by just adding in that 1 item kah?

Normal DSP would cost you min RM1.8k and Class D DSP would cost you min RM2.8k..

That's way over budget for me. So a simple speaker+amp change would do the trick? Or are the stock speakers good enough paired with the new HU?

Don’t bother with amp if your not going to change ur stock speakers. stock speakers won’t be able to handle it.
Yes audison bit 10 about 1700. Tuning and cabling maybe add another 300-500 depending on cable quality and length.
Also different tuner got different style. Like some tuners likes punchy music with a lot of bass but without an amp ure also limited.
But dsp will be the easiest upgrade at the moment for u and see if u like it and can always change the rest later.
