That is the problem...people always listens to shitty Malaysian club music and then associated it with Techno/Trance and all those hardstyle. It's Different!!

Anyway, Trance is very far different from Techno.

I am an avid Trance listener, fav DJs of course the old school ones like PVD, Ayla, ATB, Armin...bla bla bla.

But now more into collecting songs from various producers Like Sean Tyas, John O'Callaghan, Airbase, Kyau vs Albert, Above & Beyond....bla bla bla

and been mixing for quite some time

Is there a music sample (or song) that will introduce me to Trance N Techno. Please help... i dun like it  cry.gif

if you dont like it...please stay away from the trance community.

to enjoy this kind of music you must be ready open your ears & feel them, not by taking ecstacy, of course!
trance music is the drug itself...we cannot force you to like them, it's up to you.

and please, we dont like some rap lover (or really are you?) to have disrespect on our likings.

btw, i am speaking on behalf of trancers...techno you do your own....

Hi Matt, good explanation you have there.

people are mostly confuse about trance/techno/house.

(i skipped RnB, even though it's infamously played everywhere, because it's simply awful music to me, sorry no offense)

bwahahahaa! i think that rap music is more awful than trance...very repetitive, monotonous loop & the same loop is used again & again by another artists. all they have to do is to talk over the loop & that's it! you are now 50 Cent, Kanye West...bla bla rappers that only care about bling2 but not the quality of music.

I stop listening to mainstream radio now....

Well, im cool with what others listen, but don't come criticizing what we listen to, because we didn't do that to you. You know who you are.

I have friends who listen to chinese pop, and im ok with it, it's their choice. But if they go over the border in criticizing my choice of music, i will not hesitate to roar back at them =)

Btw, i think those music labelled as techno by typical Malaysians, are dance music with weird bpms and outlandish synths. No offense, it's my 2 cents

Whew, i wish i could find one girl of my dreams too, who share the same interest in electronic dance music, like i do.

One day, i sent a song to my ex, Andain - Beautiful Things, and she didn't seem to like it, and i knew, it's over  happy.gif

hahaha, better dump her now than to be sorry for you cannot discuss trance for your whole life... tongue.gif

Ministry of Sound, correctly defined, is actually a type of brand or label. The ones that are famous with the MOS imprint are the CD mixes under their label, which were mixed by very good DJs. Like speedfamgirl had mentioned before, the CDs are more towards house music, but lately shifted to more dark, electro-ish house. The latest MOS mix CD by D Ramirez was very much electro-sounding and minimal tech, far from being house music. That CD, absolute 5 stars smile.gif

About the girl, yeah we went separate ways. But can't help to not forget her; only trance music can accompany me now  happy.gif

i am amazed on how deep is your knowledge about these electronic musics thumbup.gif
i only know trance but not too detail to explain to other people.

it's ok, wish that we could married to trance biggrin.gif

Nah it's nothing. It just a thing called 'concept DJ' by our gang; we listen and learn about every part of EDM, be it trance, electro, house, techno, progressive, tribal, minimal, tech or retro, we can layan all  biggrin.gif

But of course, trance is still the best ! The emotional rush from trance is priceless. Im married to trance already!  rclxm9.gif

Lately the trance scene is rather quiet, true to the word. However, there are few notable releases though;
1. Super8 & DJ Tab - Suru
2. Re:locate vs Cliff Coenraad - We feel
3. Miguel Sassot - Suddenly
4. Paul van Dyk feat. Jessica Sutta - White lies

In fact, if you guys want to know more on the latest on trance, go listen to weekly trance radioshows like ASOT or GBDJ; they are awesome new and updated stuffs.
*
Although i have not yet listen to those release properly (just scanning them atm) there are still some good ones that came out early this year. Like stuffs from Airbase, Substate, John O'Callaghan...oh yeah Sean Tyas is a must (for people who is die hard fan oh him biggrin.gif )

Mostly my series including tracks from them.....

btw, you like more vocal or less vocal in trance? i prefer the dub version or instrumental only...of course i do like some vocal trance.
the only song i could not let go is Sherrie Lea - No Ordinary Love (Kyau vs Abert club mix). it was the 1st song that truly make me addicted to trance rclxms.gif wub.gif

Yup Sean Tyas is on fire, with One More Night Out. JOC less abit, probably working on his new remixes.

Like i've said before, i like all of em'  happy.gif

But i do have preferences on some good vocal tunes like;
1. Ronski Speed - The Space we are (JOC remix)  <--needless to say, played in almost every gigs i've attended
2. Jose Amnesia feat. Jennifer Rene - Wouldn't Change a Thing
3. Jes Brieden - Like a Waterfall
4. Mark Norman feat. Celine - Colour my eyes
5. Andain - Beautiful Things (G&D remix)

I like alot of vocal tracks, but these are all i can remember now.

For dub or instrumental mixes;
1. Duderstadt feat. Anita Kelsey - Smile (Duende dub)
2. Meck feat. Dino - Feels like Home (Marco V dub)
3. Yanou - King of my Castle (Sander van Doorn dub remix)
4. Robbie Riviera - Shout (Marco V reconstruction)

Omg that song by Sherrie Lea, sexy one !! I love that one too...... I gave you all the love I got I gave you more than I could give  wub.gif
*
that is why i truly change from a mainstream listener to serious trance addict tongue.gif biggrin.gif
the only vocal tune that i can't let go until now...

Trance scene is rather stagnant this year, the tunes created are very much monotonous and repetitive. No thanks to Ableton Live, DJs curi tulang just mix the default synths and beats and call it a new song.

Progress is heavy in the electro industry now; I can easily name a few prominent DJs who jumped ship (from trance to electro), namely Ferry Corsten, Marco V, Paul van Dyk (albeit slowly) and Judge Jules.  cool.gif
*
yalah...more release sounds like the same...and more shitty pop tunes has been remixed as well by them, that makes them really suck! sad.gif

I dislike electro, constant beeping & loud sounds...

btw, there are also some uplifting trance release from Tragida...currently i'm banging their tracks. icon_rolleyes.gif

Yup. In Between is the name of his album. Btw i posted a snapshot i took at the entrance of Zouk at the Norman Jay gig in the other website; go check it out (hint:pvd)  biggrin.gif

KL's gig date is not confirmed, but i gauged it would be 31st August because PVD has confirmed his gig in Singapore on the 1st of September (Saturday)

Offshore? Ouch sounds like alot of true trancer friends of mine will miss PVD  doh.gif

Old school still rocks hard. Seriously, the trance nowadays is nowhere near the quality of the old schools. Think of Tranquility Base, Project Exor, Gouryella, BT.....shivers  rclxm9.gif
*
not only i will miss PVD, but last time i also missed Tiesto last year, Andy Moor this year & lots more... cry.gif

PVD too is going mainstream now...i seem cant really digest his new productions. not like his older tracks... sad.gif

Tiesto! Omg the Renault Pit rave  rclxm9.gif One of the sweetest memory ever, i think i was so drunk with trance that day, i passed out. Best trance festival ever in Malaysia.

Andy Moor, i remembered lol. At the eve of Velocity rave in KL Tower. Was contemplating of whether going for Andy or Anne Savage, but ended up in Luna Bar listening to friends spinning.

PVD, yep too mainstream recently, no thanks to his countless remixes of Justin Timberlake's cheese. But but but, his live set is still the best in the world, that's why he's still world no.1 notworthy.gif
*
yes! definitely his livesets are the best.
the most i like is the Dance Valley 2005 set, i would like to have the video as well...only have the mp3 right now.

wah, lucky you...can walk aroung KL & choose whenever trance venue that you like. not like here in Kuching. it sucks dude! in Miri also dont have...only hardcore techno ones... sad.gif

Fengtau ??? Yoji lol....we beh tahan his sets, after 5 minutes we were like looking at each other, "Woi, beh tahan, kia la"..... Cannot layan man.

But the most enjoyable set still was Judge Jules' *thumbs up*
*
memang i tidak boleh tahan punya....if psytrance i still can take it, but fengtou blink.gif shakehead.gif ohmy.gif

how i wish that at least a small portion of trance is exist here in kuching.
pity us, we have no clubs & the most is karaoke where lots of indon young chick & transvestives to entertain you...uwek!
so pathetic! that's why i choose to sit down at home rather than to go clubbing here.

like in Miri we have liveband pub...but i'm not too fond of liveband
