My personal comment on this movie. The story plotting is kinda bad. Another movie that want to cramp a lot of content in just 2 hour show. A lot of things is unexplain. Most of the the i feel is bad as just show the person in that place then what is happening then skip to another scene. Bad one.

The ending is fine for me as a trilogy. If they want to have a trilogy why don't have a better opening than this. Hope will have budget for part 2 if not just a waste.

Depends on what type of movies you like. If you like action packed movies or another LOTR. Skip it. If you're interested in a children's adventure movie, its quite good compared to Narnia or the latest Harry Potter. The problems with the movie was highlighted in my earlier posts.

Damn- they shouldnt put Daniel Craig in the poster. He just a cameo in the movie. the next installment of GOlden Compass should be : Saving Agent 007!

Kinda dissapointed with GC
too short for me for an epic like LOTR
at least make it more than 2 hours or at least 3 hours

lot of things want to explain but they do it in very short time
lot of important dialogue gone missing

Odd. I personally enjoyed the movie. A lot has been changed from the book but I thought it could very well stand on its own as a movie.

New Line Cinema probably made a mistake by saying that it's going to be like LotR. It's definitely not another LotR.

As for Dust, it'll be explained more if they make the 2nd movie. They didn't elaborate much on it either in the 1st book.

The new girl is good. She acted the role as Lyra well. I expected someone older...in her teens but Dakota Blue Richards didn't disappoint me anyway. Kinda disappointed that Daniel Craig only got like what - 15 minutes screen time?

I actually wanna watch it again. biggrin.gif

i enjoyed this movie too, like the book, alot of questions are left unanswered in the first installment of the movie.

More questions will show up in part 2 of the book/movie and some answers will appear, but nothing will be final till the 3rd and final part biggrin.gif

I like to movie too but its not doing well in US. So the chances for a sequel or a 3rd part in quite slim especially New Line is concentrating their budget on The Hobbit. Anyway most people did not like this movie because they compared it to LOTR. It happen to Narnia as well. Its a big mistake for New Line to market it as another LOTR. Another mistake were to aim the movie for children. The story is too dark and complicated for children. Most adult who watched it don't understand the story. They have already dumbed down the story and people still don't get it. Thats why I feel this story is suitable only for books and not movie material.
