iMovie DV Problem

I have a old Sony Mini DV camera and I spent a lot on a firewire cable. Everything is fine, it works on my mac and it can transfer video problem is that the video lags, missing frames, frames can be too fast at times and the sound skips a lot when I transfer from Camcorder to Mac.
I transfered using the windows app, it's fine and it doesn't work on my mac.... Please help me! |

What model is your Mac? Imac? Mac mini? How much RAM are there in your mac?
What software are you using on your Mac? Imovie or some other 3rd party apps? Please be more specific. |

Latest Apple 10.4.10 update got address DV framerate drop problem. Maybe that'll help.
