QUOTE(HamikSu @ Mar 19 2008, 11:53 AM)
Mind if I ask about ur previous car, what kind of parts are expected to change from 10 years to around 15 years?
Those SV4 selling in the market now are 10 years old and above now and selling at RM3XK

Saw a 2.0 SV4, can hear the noisy engin sound from 10m away when driver was sitting idle waiting for passenger.

Like a previous post a member said RM30K car minus engin + RM10K engin, altogether RM40K for a 10 years old car.. worth it?

If I can find around 28-33K with the car condition can last for 3 years without major repair and yearly maintenance around 2K, i would buy for the sake of brand and design.
*
absorbers, new coat of paint, timing belt blah blah blah and change air cond filter. do radiator flushing as well.
pricing and money is up to u.
i bought a CD6 from my jap classmate during uni days. costs me 16k for the car and shit load for the bribes undertable and AP. once that engine pecah, i had to change it to another H22A which during that time costs around RM 1.9k for the whole 1/2 cut.
H22A today as of this date, manual costs around 8k.

yearly maintanence dun really need 2k unless u plan to change tyres every year. H22A's are the toughest around, so even if u dun service it for 15000km mileage, its still ok. i did mine once for 20k km coz was broke lolz.

H22A 2 inch all the way, centre 2 bullets to muffle down the sound and vibration. rear 1 2.5" muffler "in" cukup.

i kept some pics of my car. will show u tomoro. give a pic of my dyno chart as well.

and lastly the first time i dyno, without modifications.
only after i supped it up with cams and blah blah blah blah can hit 240hp. but becoz i itchy fingers go lighten the flywheel by another 3kg, i reduced my torque level.
top speeds after that is around 247km/h @ 7k rpm. not enough horse pushing beyond liao.

ooo.. i guess i better go on 17' ler...
yeah. the air cond is different. mine use analog too.
wow 245! what engine is that? (i`m noob)
mine is still standard 2.2 engine.. lol
*
CD6 jepun. meter sampai 180km/h. enjin original but tukar gearbox. see the PRND signs in the mid of the dashboard.
110km/h "ding ding ding" bunyi. reverse sensor also "ding dong ding dong ding dong" bunyi. solution - potong 3 wayar.

seatbelt light shud be on, solution use paper clip to sumbat terminal to "short" it. if potong wayar, car cannot start.

180km/h speedcut. solution - potong 2 wayar and connect ground to ekjos. solve problem.

ABS gold- almost die. solution: potong wayar and take out sohai ABS pump. cost - RM 200.

Air cond - 18 degrees coldest, 32 degrees damn hot. really heat coming out.

is original H22A. dyno chart also show u all. even my name is there. Battery dry cell from japan. damn good. last me 6 years.

hmm, yeah, after changing the engine of my SM4, there's ding dong sound when reverse
but the seatbelt light is not activated for my car

if i'm not mistaken, my engine is F22B... but is this engine VTEC?
mine don't have VTEC
*
look at engine block head and intake manifold.
VTEC normally scribbled on engine head and non has PGM-F1 on the intake manifold.

even if its VTI its also a VTEC.

i did post. i dont like bodykits. better to leave kosong. look funkier that way. its whats under the hood thats important. look rough and tough but dont perform is a big let down.

btw where u at ? bodykit for sv4 alot. bumi fiber and joe's garage got so many choices and designs. i like the veilside accord for cosmetics though.

erm.. wats the fuel consumption for the stock H22A engine?? means no mod on the engine at all..
*
@1.92 per liter @ 60 liters H22A stock engine with air conditioning on - SS2 - Jln Ampang (next to China Embassy) every single day, peak rush hour to and fro - 560km total.

if u bukak vtec, ur mileage gets less. alot less.

From Damansara Jaya/Kayu Ara toll north south highway, 110km/h to ipoh north jalan kuala kangsar and back to damansara jaya/kayu ara toll - 400+km in total, baru 1/2 tank.

Tip- normal old man style driving yah ....

If u become hero like me, from Damansara Jaya/Kayu Ara tol - Ipoh @ 230km/h- 240km/h ...... ngam ngam u reach ipoh north exit, u have to pump liao.

sv4 cd6 2.2l auto non vtec

1. How is the fc for town driving? full tank how much?

2. any common problem?

3. I found one used car, dealer selling 25k, 1 owner, price consider ok?

4. How to check used car condition when buy from dealer?

5. if non vtec then wat is d engine model? (2.2 auto)

6. can direct change from auto to manual?

7. can downgrade to 2.0 manual? f20b?
*
running on a H22A auto transmission damn gasak minyak.

1 - u have a 55-60 liter tank. go do the math. (60 liters are for ori CD6 cars only not sure bout local model)
2 - common problem on a H22A is it uses 6-7 liters of engine oil. so if u buy 2 tongs, you have leftovers and its hard to keep track of that.
3 - it depends on what year he car is
4 - bring a mechanic. look for defects on the body first. engine can be change, chassis cannot.
5 - no idea dont bother
6 - can if u can find ECU and gearbox. wiring pretty complete.
7 - i believe for this question, the answer is yes. time and time again, i've reiterated, if u have money, u wat also can do. money solves alot.

You can only get the Manual Transmission on the Earlier SV4, the facelift version only come with Auto. And it will break down after 10 years.

Anyway do most of you guys convert Auto 2.2 to H22A Manual? I know wiring up the H22A to SV4 properly is the toughest part, some of the versions has exact same wiring while others need to be more careful. Also takes alot of effort to convert from Auto to Manual.

How many Racing Teams actually used SV4 as a race car? All I can see there's only 2 in Japan.

It's just a car that still looks good and big space. If you talk about chasis it's on the understeer side, but hey understeer is better than most cars nowadays, at least it has it's own character right?
*
assuming u already have a h22a auto transmission engine fitted in your sv4, conversion to manual tranny takes less than a day.
alot of effort not really unless u plan on doing it yourself. the hardest part of conversion is getting a good manual gearbox that has no faults in it.

how many racing teams use sv4 i'm not sure as well and i dont really bother.

yea its a good car but its also a bad handling car. yea i supose u're right to say it has its own character.

sm4 i think is drum brakes at the rear

sv4 is also drum for 2.0 and disc for 2.2
ori cd6 is disc on front and back but the front discs are bigger than even the 2.2 local models.
