I was reusing some old displayport cable I had when I bought my new 3440x1440 120hz monitor and was experiencing the intermittent blackout issue like what you described (this cable worked fine for my 144hz 1080p monitor though). Switched to vendor provided cable and no longer any issues.

If you arent using a high refresh rate monitor then you dont need DP, HDMI will be fine. If you have a high refresh rate or high resolution (4k) monitor then you need to use DP, but in those cases the monitor should come with one.

Unfortunately the monitor i bought did not come with cable provided by the vendor. Only hdmi.

So i had to buy dp cable myself
The place i bought my monitor has only the 25 bucks cable
I went to all IT and the cost was crazy

100-200 bucks for a mere dp cable

In that case then you don't need DP, any reason why you're using DP?
