Did any of the folks that criticize Familymart and say hype will die etc actually tried out their food? (aside from Oden & the ice cream)

You'll be surprise most if not all of them tasted surprisingly good as a ready-to-eat item

Even the coffee is okay.

That's the main reason they succeed, aside from 7e being so lousy

Some variety - hot meal, sandwiches, croissants, coffee, ice cream - always a plus points.
People go to convenience store is not to buy pampers, shampoo, peanut butter or chips.
They want something to chew and filling.

Those that stick with general items, chocolates and some tasteless bread bun packed in 8 will have a hard time to survive.
Most convenience store is damn expensive selling a small peanut butter (good brand) at a price higher than the big peanut butter in teso or aeon big.

People dont go to convenience store to pay a choking throat price when you could have done your daily grocery from local supermarket.
The convenience store is for you to grab something eat at a instance, not a place to buy shampoo.

Totally agree...

Accepting card is a plus point for Familymart, I can foresee that they're gonna accept Boost and TnG in the future too...

Unlike 7e, only accept cash for over a decade, wan ppl to use the rubbish Razer Pay, which both also from Berjaya Group lmao...

I would go as far as to say accepting card is the minimum expectation already especially in KL where cashless penetration is very high. Unfortunately malaysian consumers in general are not very forward thinking that they will flock to the establishment that is more innovative and they just accept and continue to buy from 7e, that's why they can get away with what they are doing now. In other markets where is ultra competitive, they sure bungkus long ago d
