Anything above RM2100 for 5700 XT is too much.

Should get a 2070 at that point

I like the colour experience more on 5700XT when pairing with Benq EX3203R monitor.

mad.gif Issue 1: With Strix 2080 (Gsync compatible on setting), I experienced Metro Exodus screen auto off before gameplay for 2 seconds on Benq EX3203R monitor. (but not recurring on 5700XT and during gameplay)
mad.gif Issue 2: GPU-Z reported Hot Spot temperature >100 Celsius on Strix 5700XT! (I expect Asus' over-engineered cooling to perform better, but somehow disappointed.
bangwall.gif Issue 3: Sometimes GPU Fan won't spin even after >55C, has to manually set Radeon WattMan GPU Fan Curve.
bangwall.gif Issue 4: Asus Maximus X Hero M/B latest Aura Sync utility cannot detect 5700XT. (but can detect 2080)
mad.gif Issue 5: From Youtube review, this card run 5 to 10 Celsius hotter than MSI Gaming X, Red Devil, Sapphire Nitro+ due to higher power consumption at load! Initially I chose Asus to hope their top of the line product can beat other manufacturers by lower temperature.

biggrin.gif Recommendation:
1. If you want lower gaming temperature, try out Sapphire Nitro+ 5700XT/MSI Gaming X/Red Devil instead of Asus to see any improvement in gaming temperature as per claimed by Youtube reviews.
2. Use Gaming Profile instead to enjoy <80C temp but the trade off is to sacrifice few FPS loss.

I am more concern about gaming at high temperature on 5700XT. Hope upcoming Powercolor Liquid Devil may change the game.

Here is my test results on Asus ROG Strix 5700XT/2080 O8G (Gaming Profile in SW, HW BIOS Performance Mode): (for Nvidia, RTX off, Nvidia Hairworks, PhysX enabled)

My RTX 2080 run hotter! Ridiculous? Will try RMA.

So RTX 2080 only win by 5-30FPS more, but with price double! 5700XT card is a sweeter choice, (FPS is playable at min 60FPS onwards) to pair with an affordable 1440p Freesync monitor!

Depend on the Screen Resolution. e.g On 1440p, 5700XT & 2070 is already a sweet spot, you don't have to spend on overkilling 2080 or 2080Ti just to experience immature RTX on features which reduces your FPS by half. (I suffered, now regret to be a Ray Tracing Tech early market adopter consumer)

If you can wait till 2020, AMD might introduce mature RTX in the next generation card with a cheaper price point.

Suggest can watch the gamersnexus review on tear down to see is the cooling well designed. (there are tear down videos/fixed for XFX Thicc, Gigabyte variant too)

Sapphire always have coil whine is based on last gen cards owner comments or did you notice it on Nitro+ 5700XT?

I hope someone can buy Nitro+ to test coil whine and temperature so that I can conclude that my recent purchase on Asus Strix is WRONG.

Apart from being the ROG fanboy, I opted Asus due to its attractive price point @RM 2050 at Lowyat Retailer + only vendor with IP5x Dust Free Fan design + reinforced frame on PCB to prevent GPU sag. Cheaper than Nitro+ @RM2150.

Some speculation on web saying Asus 5700XT is using the same cooling design from their customed Nvidia RTX & they don't redesign cooling to cater for this new Navi10. Perhaps, this might explain why temperature is still high.

From my price survey, Lowyat Retailers always win with few hundreds ringgit lower. Idealtech always sell at higher SRP .

Lowyat Asus strix oc @2050 only.

that's what they said. i had sapphire hd5570, hd7750, hd7770 nitro, rx260, rx270, rx560.
they all whined to some degree. the higher the power, the louder. the rx560 even have ~50% asic and oc terribly.
nope, goodbye sapphire.

5700XT not support Crossfire. For my Asus Strix 570XT, I cannot see crossfire connecter on the GPU itself.
