I use eco tyres only. No drive fast fast ok de.
But need to remember that the tolerance for eco tyre is very low. Meaning don't drive fast fast especially when cornering |

Tires are the contact point between your car and the ground. Get good tires, it can make a whole lot difference in an emergency brake situation under wet conditions. It is worth the investment.

If you watch online tyre tests and reviews, the expensive ones are definitely better so there is a difference. The difference is mostly on grip levels, handling and braking performance. But nowadays, there are decent budget options around. Go search for reviews online. Just try not to save too much on tyres. This post has been edited by Jonsnow68: Aug 19 2019, 06:34 PM |

As mentioned above, tires is a very important aspect of your car so don't be a cheapskate on it!As for the price, for your size actually won't reach 800-1k (unless it's RFT tires). Around 300-500 you'd already get pretty good tires. For example around 500+ you can already get Michelin PS4 for your size, and around 300 can get you value for money Hankook V12 Evo 2, both are good choices already. |

QUOTE(azriqii @ Aug 19 2019, 06:04 PM) Of course, you want to buy reputable or known brand also. Each tire brand also have many serires meant for different purpose. So, performance varies to purpose also. Harder rubber last longer but noisy and usually poor braking distance. Softer rubber good braking but shorter lifetime. |

215/50r17 must be civic turbo model right.
I had use multiple tyres from cheap to expensive one and now is on ps4. Good tyre one u can feel its grip. Eventhough u not drive fast, but still u can feel the planted feeling especially when u do: i) high speed cruising(at least 160kmh) ii) cruise a bit fast during rain(100kmh) So. I recommend u buy ps4. Lel. |

Goodyear ATM2? Slightly different size but it's cheaper and good enough for normal driving. Or the New Toyo TR1... Below rm400. Or any eco ABC brand within your budget.
If not you can just try the premium ones the guys are recommending for better grip. |

This morning I just change this tire size. From MC5 to PS4
I've searched high and low for 2 weeks and I settled with an old shop here in JB. RM490 per donut Initially was told need additional 2% when paying using CC but the lady boss didn't charge in the end. Funny thing is all who change tire, regardless of brand and price at her shop she ask buyers to scan and submit to Continental Fast and Furious contest - can get wireless Bluetooth ear piece. She provided us with legit Continental receipt (belonging to others) to upload. LOL |

Now is raining season.. Get some reputable tyres please.. I know this video is showing high performance car with crap tires but it gives u an idea of why some tires are so cheap..
Some reputable tires locally made would be the Conti, Dunlop or Viking brand.. Dunlop is already ok not that expensive. Cheaper than Conti with good review.. I think J5 got your size.. If not 6UE5T's recommendation for the Hankook is also good. |
