Cant be

Both must renew at same time. What is the meaning of someone else insurance when police mention this:

QUOTE
Police said the vehicle involved in the incident only had a valid road tax but wasn't covered by insurance

Its not about someone else insurance, must be something wrong with this lol

QUOTE(Sai Lin Nia @ Aug 15 2019, 01:59 AM)
SONGKHLA, Aug 14 (Bernama) β€” The Malaysian driver involved in the road accident killing five grass cutters in Songkhla, Southern Thailand was found to have been driving without a valid licence.

The 30-year-old woman has been charged with reckless driving resulting in deaths and damage to public property.

The driver faces a 10-year jail term and a fine of not more than 20,000 baht (RM2,721), if found guilty.

Thai police agreed to reduce bail from 500,000 baht (RM 68,000) to 200,000 (RM27,000).

However, the woman was prohibited from leaving the country until the conclusion of the case.

Besides that, the woman need to pay cash compensation of 50,000 baht (RM 6,764) each to the families of the victims amounting to 250,000 baht (RM33,823).

The driver have yet to give any feedback on the compensation payments and bail.

She was also fined 200 baht (RM28) for driving without a valid licence.

Meanwhile, Malaysian Ambassador to Thailand, Datuk Jojie Samuel the embassy would monitor the case closely.

β€œThe embassy will provide the appropriate consulate assistance needed,” he told Bernama.

Meanwhile, family members of the victims, the driver and consulate representatives had a meeting regarding the compensation money at the Rattaphum Police Station in Songkhla today.

Yesterday, the woman and two of her friends were on the way from Krabi to Hatyai, Songkhla before the car they were travelling in ploughed into six grass cutters who were resting on the roadside of Jalan Asia, Rattaphum District, Songkhla.

In the 2.40 pm (local time) incident, five grass cutters died while another sustained severe injuries. The driver and her friends sustained light injuries.

Initial investigation found that the driver lost control of the vehicle and skidded to the side of the road before ramming into the victims.

Meanwhile, police said the vehicle involved in the incident only had a valid road tax but wasn't covered by insurance.

Our car insurance covers Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei only. Thailand have to purchase a insurance separately before entering the border. Usually you can find agents selling at food courts or shops along the road to border control points.

I always tell my insurance agent to regularly go Singapore with my car.
He said it will be under the LLP & LLoP which I already added about RM48.
