Human ma, many have their own preferences. If they are prone to not car savvy, not liking to visit workshop chances they will buy new car because less headache, if rosak part can go claim warranty. If car guy can diy maintain car properly, predict when wear and tear item gone, then can go buy used.

QUOTE(J1@l_ l_l l\l @ Aug 14 2019, 02:14 PM) Why buy used when you can afford to buy that specific model, and why buy new of cheaper model when it's not your desire? I buy used cars coz not enough money to buy new ones that I like. I don't buy new cars coz those that I can afford are not what I like. Simple as that really. |

Assuming if the vehicle to be purchased is financed, is the interest rate justifiable?
EDIT : I mean used vehicle due to used vehicle has higher interest rate This post has been edited by J1@l_ l_l l\l: Aug 14 2019, 04:06 PM |

When you can't afford, why don't get new of cheaper model? Any reason to be so desperate by buying used of the one you can't afford to buy new?

Buying new is easy, hire purchase so easily approved nowadays. Try to buy a 1999 GTR or Mitsubishi EVO with normal hire purchase? bet you can't get it.... |

I prefer buying out of heart, but not totally setting brain aside.
Just bought a used car, c segment WITH VALID WARRANTY (brain) instead of buying new B segment car(heart) |

You may find some used cars are hidden gems, just need to look harder.
I think used car gives more value, even though I can afford new one. After all, it is just a transportation mean to me. No right or wrong, just personal preference |

Buy used car because cant afford to buy new one but able to afford maintenance bill.
Example few of my kolik buy mazda 6 2.5, camry 2.4, accord 2.4. Newer price is around rm180k. Used one easily get below rm90k. Only fuel is expensive, maintenance is quite cheap. |

B segment not suitable for long distance drive. Quite tiring due to smaller cc and lighter weight.Just bought a used car, c segment WITH VALID WARRANTY (brain) instead of buying new B segment car(heart) |

If it's for a car that you really like them yeah I think it's worth it. Of course this is if you're picky or very particular about cars, otherwise then you just buy whatever that cost the cheapest for you. If I were to spend on cars then I must buy something that I like otherwise I will keep regretting it later, why on Earth I pay that much for this piece of shit!?QUOTE(xemoboyx @ Aug 14 2019, 05:24 PM) naive guy... Would you mind if the previous owner used the vehicle as casket or coffin carrier. Some are using godcar van to do this and eventually sell it off.

If one can really afford to buy that model, are those factors like pricing difference, frequency of usage, resale value (most godcar owners), really matter?
If can't afford, any reason trying to financially stretch yourself? Unless it's collector's item which is no longer in production, that's exception. |

Don't care coz don't know!QUOTE(J1@l_ l_l l\l @ Aug 15 2019, 12:05 AM) If one can really afford to buy that model, are those factors like pricing difference, frequency of usage, resale value (most godcar owners), really matter? Price difference is always a factor in buying things if you got a few options. Usage frequency is to match with the purpose of buying the car, you want as daily or occasional use and whether the car you like can fit both or either of those usage. RV depends on how willing you are to take the loss. If the car you like to buy also got good RV then that's the best but RV to me is not the highest priority even though it's important to consider. For some others RV is the main factor so they only like cars with good RV.If can't afford, any reason trying to financially stretch yourself? Unless it's collector's item which is no longer in production, that's exception. Never financially stretch just to buy cars coz cars is a luxury, that's why I buy used cars coz value for money. One very important consideration in choosing cars though is whether you can afford the maintenance and operational cost. If you cannot then you cannot afford it even though initially you have money just to buy. So buy a car that you can afford both in terms of initial purchase price and operational cost, whether it's new or used. This post has been edited by 6UE5T: Aug 15 2019, 12:47 AM |
